I like them, think they look good, but not sure if they are a bit 'blingy' to have them on. The car is striking enough as it is, maybe the LED's shout 'look at me' a little more than is required. Mine are currently on but am very close to turning them off!...wanted to set a poll for this but cannot seem to see an option to do so

I always leave my lights on Auto in all of my vehicles, so in the 458 it's LED's on for me.

+1. Run with lights in auto. Had a few people comment during a F car run that the LED's went on and made the car look even more sinister. Loved that.

Mine are off but I may put them on...the car is so low and black that the lights could actually help if someone doesn't see me coming before they switch lanes, etc...I did this with my 911 and it really helped.

The lights are a safety feature and are being installed in every new car being built for a reason. Why turn them off?

    Kinda ugly....

If you need a series of lights to attract attention to see your 458, the people in your town must be blind! :)

I heard that your chances of getting in to an accident are decreased when you drive with them on. Something to do with others seeing you better I assume.

I don't have a 458 but I would leave them on....on nice cars led daytime lights look good IMO and it also helps with visibility to pedestrians and other drivers.

On (California, not 458). Not that I really want attention, but if it means Joe Six Pack avoids running his pickup into my car, well...

    +1.

Over here in Europe there are countries where it's mandatory to turn on the lights - all day long. It definitely is a plus as far as being seen by others is considered. That is especially true for dark-colored cars !

I always have my lights fully switched ON (rightmost position of knob).
Don't know how it looks, as I'm sitting inside my car. ;)

    Cheers,
    Ulli

I was told that if you drive a car with daytime running lights and you intentionally turn them off, it could be held against you in court should you be involved in an accident (which would suck if you weren't at fault). I'm not sure how likely this is or to what degree it could affect the outcome, but it was an attorney who told me. IMO, daytime running lights are a good safety/accident-avoidance feature, and when driving a car that has them I leave them on.

Seems a few yes's and a few no's, but I think I like RobD's response best as that allows me to keep mine on for legal reasons/saftey...
so now I feel absolved of all 'blinginess' quite simply they are on because its a necessisty!!
    cheers Rob

Keep them off, unless you're cruising down the strip in Dubai...

Lights! Want to draw as much attention to yourself as can can, in other words letting them know to get out of your way, Ferrari coming through.

i mean if they bother u that much then swap them out for non-led daytime running lights....youre dropping 300K on a car, it shouldn't be an issue.

it comes down to the safety of pedestrians and other motorists.....although i can't imagine being a pedestrian and not knowing a 458 was coming considering how loud it is!

There are soooo many reasons to keep your lights on it shouldn't even be considered an option to turn them off. As everyone already pointed out, it's primarily for other people to see you who either can't see very well (i.e. visually impaired at the time they are driving, for whatever reason that might) or aren't fully paying attention.

For those of you who think it's too flashy or don't like the way it looks while you're sitting in the car: Are you serious? lol
