Is there a local shop that sells race helmets?

I need a new lid for karting and I would like to be able to try a few on. I would normally just order one online but it sucks to try and find the right fight.

Maybe try the kart shop at Moroso? Aren't there speed shops in Broward, Dade counties? Try the Yellow Pages.

Go to any motorcycle dealer and you can try on as many helmets as you can stand.

I have purchased my last two helmets from Wine Country. They are nice folks to work with and will make sure you get the correct fit.

Wine Country is the only way to go!

When I bought mine, I was surprised that the size is just one aspect on how a helmet fits. Manufacturers have many different shaped helmets that you definitely need to try on. Example...I tried on the same sized helmets, one was perfect, the other type my nose was touching the front lower piece.
Plus, I don't think motorcycle shops carry Snell rated helmets, just D.O.T. type which can also be used for Karting, although not allowed for use in cars on race tracks.
D.O.T. helmets are far less expensive because they are rated for one single hard impact, not multiple impacts like Snell rated helmets.

Very, very true. That's why I want to try them on in person. I want a SA2010 so I can use it across the board. I was under the assumption that Motorcycle shops didn't carry SA2010 lids but I'll have to look into it.

I'll be at Daytona for Celebration. I'll have to call, hopefully Wine Country is there like they were at Sebring.
