    The black one is awesome...

What did you felt on the Aventador assembly line? Is similar to how the Murciélago one was?

we were there a week ago....

Lambos are all (still) hand made. I was honestly surprised. Both lines are side by side. Lambos are assembled at their plant vs truly made. They bring in all the parts and bolt them together. The whole Lambo experience was great. Gallardo interior bits arrive at Lambo ready to install. Aventador interior parts are still mostly made on site. Leather is stitched on site...etc.

We headed over to Ferrari and went on their tour...cars were largely made by machines. Ferrari is massively bigger vs Lambo. Ferrari has to be at least 10xs larger vs Lambo..at least. I felt like were were in the midst of the a mass production facility. Clearly Ferrari is not overly worried about making too many cars. I read that Ferrari is planning on churning 2500 458s per year...

The real treat was Maserati. Like Lambo, the cars are mostly made by hand. Maserati's facility is still in the exact same building as they have been from day one. You literally are walking around in a massive ancient building filled with modern cars and processes. The Maserati workers seemed to be sincerely enthusiastic.

But, the BEST...by far...Pagani. Nothing compared. Small facility...nothing fancy. (weeds were growing around the building). They took us into their small manufacturing facility and it was exactly as you would of thought. It was like stepping back in time in terms of craftsmanship. But, even Pagani was bringing in parts made off site. I didn't see any indication that any of the interior bits were made in house.

Anyway....if you can...go to Italy and visit these places.

Did you go on a guided tour with " Motorstars.org" when visiting these factories? I ask because I'm going in October and my travel agent is recommending this company.

    Glad I found this thread.

I will be visiting Pagani, Lamborghini and hopefully Maserati in the next couple weeks.

Any tips or must-sees for the Lamborghini tour other than what the guides take you on?

Im interested as well. I'll be in Modena on June 13. I looked into the Motorstars tour but I thought I'd just see what kind of adventure I could have on my own.

From what I understand it is impossible to tour Ferrari and Maserati unless you're on owner. (I'm not quite there yet!)

I'd like to hear what others say about the region and get some more insight into other "must sees"
