Shreveport.. it's still LA.

Hi all,

I am set to pick up my 328 this Saturday in Memphis. I've been on the 328 forum for a few weeks and figure it's time to check out the LA boards. Seems like NO and BR are the only places. Anyone live "way up north in Shreveport?"

Go a little north into Arkansas. The roads north of Hot Springs are legendary all the way uo to Eureka Springs. Just fantastic.
PS: I live in central Louisiana

 

Might as well be East Texas since the casinos opened!

Congrats on the 328, from a dealer or individual in Memphis?

 

From an individual.. he has a good rep and the price is good as well. Needs cam belts but it's just a car.. sorta.

Where are you located, Covington?

How will you service the car in that area?

 

Gotcha; reason I asked is b/c I lived in Memphis in the 80s and was curious if I'd recall the dealer.

I'm on the poor side of St Tammany...Slidell.

 

Carboxer.. yup, bought Robert's car. So you know it or Robert? "Contests on the buy"? I don't understand. I'll be doing the service. Looks pretty straightforward so far. I've worked on 2-stroke SAABs, Pro-Rally cars, Bugeye Sprite, E-Type Jag. This car has air-conditioning ! It's gonna be a piece of cake. I hope.

4re.. I used to live in Slidell too on the golf course in '71 or so. More than a few years in NO and more than that up here in Shreveport.

 

His spell check probably changed "congrats" to "contests".

Small world, Country Club Estates I assume? I don't think the other two courses (Oak Harbor & Royal) date back to then.

4re.. could be, I remember Pinewood Dr. and that there were wild hogs running around in the woods behind the house and that we had to leave around 5am and rinse the tree frogs off the car to get to New Orleans in time for school.

I've been in Slidell since '91...met a local girl and can never leave!

 

Anyone up here at all?? I'm going on Saturday drives with a buddy or two, one has a Model A, the other a '69 E-Type. i never get out of first gear... sigh..

.. ok, this is just a bump to make sure new folk see Shreveport..

 

I had to stay a week in downtown Shreveport for work. I HATED it. Don't know what the rest of the area was like though.

I'm doing a day of work in Shreveport on the 18th. I might only be there one night though. If I stay through Sunday the 19th and you aren't busy maybe we can do a 2 guy car and coffee. I'll try to remember to bring a Ferrari hat.

You might want to look into attending this event in October in Jackson, MS. It is certainly worth the trip.
