I know you dont know me from anywhere Ronnin. I just hope the next time you wreck its just you and you dont hurt anyone else. You are not a good drive, you are just a lucky driver.

Come to Sioux Falls, SD and Ill tell that to your face. I dont think I have ever been called a **** so that would be cool.

I'm not sure what you mean by the new "Shamile" rule? This thread didn't start as a "what would you do?" or "guess who?" so that meaning doesn't apply. Another meaning of "Shamile" rule would be bringing discussions of actions and postings off the board on to the board. But in that case, the thread was one which turned from a question about Ronin's well-being due to the incident, to one about his driving behavior possibly causing the incident. That being the case an explanation by Ronin, of the incident as he saw it, seems pertinent to the thread, even if it includes assigning fault, rightly or wrongly, to Alan S. The last meaning of "Shamile" rule that I can think of is that TestShoot should be held responsible for creating a thread that transformed from an "innocent" question into a beating of another user (Ronin); but we promised to apply that sparingly and only under limited circumstances, so I seriously doubt anyone thinks that would be fair in this case.

Next, I still don't know if Alan S. is a user on this board; IMO protections provided users should be stronger than protections provide non-users. So if Ronin disclosed the name of a user, I'm ready to give him a ban; if Ronin disclosed the name of a non-user, then 1) he is responsible for any libel action brought on him by that person (that would still be true if Alan S. were a user too), and 2) an appropriate courtesy on the part of the board is anonymizing the name, which action may or may not result in a ban, depending on the intent and behavior surrounding it.

As far as a ban for a veiled threat, I read his comment several times trying to decide if it was meant as a threat or meant "you wouldn't say that to my face". TBH, one of the tipping points was his concurrent use of the label "haters" and "thugs"; someone who uses those terms sees themselves as a "not a hater" and "not a thug", which sounds relatively passive to me. I could be completely wrong, I don't know most of the Socal folks personally; but I chose to give him the benefit of the doubt; another mod might not have. That doubt may or may not be there based on future posts also. As far as Bradjohnstone, he made derogatory posts 3 times after being warned earlier about that, no ambiguity there.

Listen guys it's all public record as to who the other guy is [traffic collision report] and the facts will be on the accident report when it is turned in...

It's funny that so many Alanlambo fanboys are happy that my Lotus is wrecked here on Ferrari Chat... So nice.

So you cite California law on overtaking, but had no idea the other car was there. Interesting.

1st, that section does not apply (based on your description of the accident). That section applies to vehicles overtaking other vehicles and the operators duty to do so safely. That section typically applies to overtaking vehicles on 2-lane roads, or where a directional lane divider is legally crossed to affect a pass.

In your scenario, the lane is empty, you start to change lanes, and suddenly a car appears out of nowhere and the two of you collide.

One can infer the way the accident happened:

    1) The other car was there, but you didn't see it and made an unsafe lane change that resulted in a collision.

    2) Since you cited the overtaking law, this is probably what happened: the other car was behind you and went to pass. You didn't want that to happen and changed lanes to block the other vehicle. Apparently you misjudged the other cars speed and entered the lane the other car now occupied as it attempted to pass you. Again, that would make this an unsafe lane change on your part.

These are the sections of the vehicle code that apply (again, based on your version of the incident):

22107. No person shall turn a vehicle from a direct course or move right or left upon a roadway until such movement can be made with reasonable safety and then only after the giving of an appropriate signal in the manner provided in this chapter in the event any other vehicle may be affected by the movement.

22108. Any signal of intention to turn right or left shall be given continuously during the last 100 feet traveled by the vehicle before turning.

I want to make something perfectly clear, I have no dog in this fight. I have seen this Lotus on the road and have never personally witnessed any 'stupid driving'. I totally appreciate, admire and respect the effort that went into building that car. I actually met the owner once and he seemed like a decent guy.

Now that I hear that Allen Lambo was the other driver, and the particular vehicle code section cited, I can get a pretty clear picture of what probably happened. At the end of the day, a lane change resulted in an accident. Had it not been for that lane change, the two cars would never have made contact. Clearly there was a car in the other lane, or the accident would never have happened.

You can spin it any way you want, but I'd be VERY surprised if the other driver was found to be at fault (again, based solely on your version of the accident). After investigation there may be some contributory negligence on the other drivers part (speeding?), but the unsafe lane change is what caused the accident.

It just really pisses me off when people don't man up and take responsibility for their actions....

It would be fantastic to see your Lotus at Streets of Willow. It would have been interesting to see your car on the Best Motoring TV show when they went there. Ronin Exige vs Mines R34 or RE Amemiya FD RX7 would be quite the spectacle.

I wish you were a bit more mellow because when you are interesting things get talked about. Good luck to you

    And, it's your second post?

Anyway, it sounds like some spirited driving ensued and the Lotus guy cut off the other driver as he came up behind? The P guy probably didn't back off as he thought that Lotus would back down on his lane change/block. The fact that he knows who the guy is suggests that some egos got involved just prior to contact. Both these guys need to grow up.

I don't believe AllenLambo was the other driver.

Who knows who it was. At 60-70mph the other car must have hit him pretty good and would be in need of some work so he should surface I'd guess at one point. It's odd to me that no Porsche has shown up yet.

So far it looks like an abrupt lane change was made and the lotus tried to avoid the other car and spun itself into a wall.

If AllenLambo was the other driver this would be a whole different ballgame. It without question would have been the two of them racing.

    Hmmm, Dunno 'bout that one...

I've never seen or heard about Allen actually accepting a challenge to race. He loves to boast online, rev and talk **** to 308 owners while stopped, and punch it up to red lights but actually race??? I doubt his wife would approve.....

What do the, by my inaccurate I am sure count, three traffic cameras there show? (Hence why I pointed out the potential for a felony to have been perpetrated.)

Porsche runs Lotus of the road? Hundreds of minimum wage Ca Dept Highways or whatever workers will love making that a YouTube moment!

Damn. The one chance for geriatric Dominic Toretto to go through a guard rail and fly off a mountain side and this happens on an on ramp. What luck.

Nope I only have the one car.

That's all my wife will let me own. One day maybe I will have 2.

Btw AllenLamebo is way down my list.

Ronin it's not your car it's your attitude that has you off almost all forums.

Your car build would be talked about with praise if your attitude were different. People would enjoy your passion for it instead you've alienated yourself with your posts and have people upset.

I find it odd you did this to yourself. It makes no sense.

Anyone can build a fast car. Handling it with maturity isn't always done.

I don't know anything about you except your posts. No one here does.

Cars are typically what bring people to these sites. Personalities keep them here.

Instead of coming in and stating your case with pose you start out with hater scumbags. Seriously how'd that work out for you.

I feel bad your kit has been wrecked. Although driving a lotus isn't enjoyable for me their lightweight and go kart feel makes them fun for a while. Your car is pretty fast I am sure but it's just that a CAR. Nothing else. Just a car. It seems to have consumed you. You take all things personal about it. Maybe you are so passionate you can't help it. Maybe it's a vendetta against a slow car you had in High School who knows.

I'd only say Gear down turbo. Life is short why take it so damn serious.

Maybe link this there instead of that here and do those Audi guys a favor? LOL
