Hi Everyone, My 355 had the alarm light on constantly and no beeps when the you clicked the fob button. Based on the discussion of others, it seemed the battery was dead in the siren. The GM Corvette replacement siren [Part 15213135] is less than $100. It was reported to be a "plug and play" by the 360 guys. Not the case with the 355 (or at least my 1997 355). The replacement from GM has four staggered male connectors, while the original 355 wiring had a pig tail that came out of the siren. To adapt it, I cut open the siren as described in the siren battery replacement threads, then soldered the old pigtail onto the posts. The question was which to solder where? After some time testing circuits with an ohm meter, I came to the conclusion that the new unit post Number 1 Brown wire, Number 2 White wire, Number 3 Yellow wire, and Number 4 Red wire. While you are in there, might as well wire in an external battery so this issue does not reappear. So...$85.00 and an hour or so later my alarm is working properly! . Even with the splicing, this will be way easier that tearing open the oem siren to replace the battery...and trying to source a battery. The timing is good here. My alarm light stays lit and I suspect it is the siren / battery problem others have posted. I should note that my alarm does beep, just different than it has in the past. I suspect mine is fading....yours had died altogether. I did find the corvette version for $77. Thanks for tip and the wiring diagram so I know how to rework it once it arrives.
Hi Watson, Now that we understand the wiring layout, it might be even easier... How about (1) cutting off the old pig tail, (2) finding some small diameter female wireless connectors, (3) soldering them onto the pigtail, (4) slipping some shrinkwrap over the connector, plugging it in and heating up the shrinkwrap.
