OK. Two years of floundering about and I finally finished my website. That's not true, it'll always be a living creature changing as my interest changes. Check it out as many of your cars are in there somewhere. Give me some feedback.

It keeps locking up my laptop. I'm using an Apple with Firefox and I get the spin wheel a lot. Tried it a few times with the same results - bogs down my system even when running in a different tab. Eventually got to your home page and I don't know who that is (maybe you?), but it's kinda odd as a home page picture. Plus navigation is difficult and it's hard to see the different options. Why use just the bottom half the screen? The thumbnails were not responsive and pretty jerky, and I couldn't get to your different galleries because of the spin wheel and no response. Maybe just my laptop. See what others say. Love the pics I did see.

Thanks for all the great input guys.

As far as any delays or locking up. The site is very Flash intensive so it will adapt to any monitor size. Don't really know what laptop and OS you're using RGVA, but may be that your Flash app could be updated or not much RAM. Tested it pretty extensively on many systems and set-ups and if the systems were up to date worked smoothly and exactly as it was supposed to. Sorry about the problems. The nice thing about this software is it automatically builds mobile versions for IPads and mobile phones on HTML5 which is the future. Flash will disappear in a few years.. Waiting until it was able to work in most situations is one of the reasons it took so long.
As far as the strange homepage it's not me and is what's called photojournalism. The gentleman is a brilliant and eccentric inventor and businessman who loves dogs. I guess if I need to explain it, I can't really explain it.

    Hi Bob,
Sounds like it's my laptop. While not the latest and greatest it usually does ok. OS X, 1GB ram. I'm glad it's working for everyone else! Also just noticed it won't download pdf's - click on a link and nothing but a blank page. Weird. Something is going on.

Your home page photo... I understand. I missed it.

I'm seriously blown away. Forget the automotive photos for a second...those are really cool. The PEOPLE photos are REALLY moving. You capture the humanity so profoundly.

I never knew the depth of your art. No kidding, that is some incredible stuff.

Don't get too big a head though...I don't give a damn if you cured AIDS or painted the Mona Lisa, I still reserve the right to bust your balls at my earliest opportunity. :p

Thanks all. Joe Zaff, I would expect no less my friend.

How did you find out about the Mona Lisa thing. I tried to keep it quiet.

Like Zaff said, the people photos are incredible. Awesome job Bob.

Also, really nice site. I have a 27" iMac at home and almost all photo sites result in too-small images. Your site scaled up to about 3/4 of the size of the screen with great clarity and color. The iPad format was nice too, but didn't have the impact of the web version. Both were speedy.

RGVA - its very likely the 1GB RAM is hurting the most. Upgrades are relatively cheap and you'll see a noticeable improvement.

Ray, you will probably have more luck with Safari now if you haven't tried it lately. The software update in the Apple menu is really a good thing. Don't know what OS you're using, but the newer the better, although the OS update to Lion is probably not necessary yet.
If you use your laptop a lot and plan more in the future RAM is critical and about as cheap now as its ever been. It's really the key to the graphics heavy applications working smoothly.

    Best of luck

Thanks Alan, if you drag your browser open to the full size of your monitor it will scale up to match. I set it up for a 30" monitor and they optimize the upload to hold up pretty well.
The IPad version is an HTML5 that it makes automatically. It loads great and everything, but the flash is really slick on the big box.

    Bob,

the website is nice. not amazing (layout/ease of use/etc) but its good and it delivers your product and message. but forget the website - the photos!!! I must honestly say that most of the shots i have seen posted here from you are "too HDR" for my tastes and therefore i never gave it much thought - but holy crap man - some of those Automotive shots are insane!!! Why you never post them?! A few i looked at for a while and really really like. Might have to get a few blown up for my office :) Really like them - and the People shots are just as awesome.

    Two Thumbs up man!

Jon (who isnt sure if that was MY old Spyder or the other Jon's old Syder in the reflection of Nicks Porsche)

Awesome photos all around, the people stuff was great and I too am in love with most of the Automotive photos. The only "turn off" for me is the HDR stuff, and probably for the same reason as Jon. Too many wanna-be photogs in the scene today have over done HDR on so many different levels, that it almost pains me to see it before I appreciate the photo.

Regardless, great photos Bob! I may just have to get some to hang around the shop here, since a few of the subjects have spent some time in it already haha

So my 5+ year old MacBook is letting me down? Darn. I'm running 10.6.8. I stopped at Firefox 3.6 because 4 was so buggy. Now it's at 11? Wow, time to upgrade.

On a real computer your site works great. Some of your people pictures stop you in your tracks. So much is being said in those pictures.

I usually run at VIR, but I'm headed to Watkins Glen in mid May and again over Labor Day. I'll be at the Critters Car Show this Saturday.

Awesome site Bob! I'm not a fan of HDR usually, but my favorite shot on your site is the one with the Ferrari and the church! That's amazing!!
