I Agree that car is more importante now than ever, that´s why i admire Vettel, he proved he coud win and battle better cars in a ToroRosso. Alonso´s last victory was much down to talent as to luck but Vettel in Imola, that was sheer talent in the rain.
Also it´s alway easyer for a good driver to make pretty things in a race with a bad car (except if you are Prost). Bellof, Senna, Alesi, Shumacher, Vettel, showed that if you are really good in the wet, you will probably beat a lot of guys who are driving far better cars....but, how many of them can do the same in the dry? Gilles was able to win in Monaco and jarama driving the worst chassis in the field, and with an engine that (at Mónaco at least) was much more difficult to cope with than all the others....and he did it in the dry, where there was nothing to ease the difference betwen the 128 ck and the williams, brabhams, Ligiers and many others.....Alesi pulled a pass on Prost at Monza 1989 twice, after the start and restart of the race, at a time when he was driving a car with at least 60 less horsepower than the Ferrari!!! To me, this is someting trulli amazing. AS i said, Alonso victory was brilliant but nothing out of this world.

According to many here, absolutely they do! If Ferrari aren't winning, consistently, the world is off its axis (at least) and *everyone* should be fired immediately. ;)

Seriously, I agree with you - As I keep saying, F1 is damn hard and very few stay at the very top for long. Many teams have gone back-to-back over the years, but very, very few have stayed there for three. Even the mighty, do-no-wrong Newey isn't out there dominating this season after many predicted more of the same for this year......

I guess RBchat will be calling for his head soon :)

    Cheers,
    Ian

Exactly don't know why everybody here assumes Ferrari is crap, more like they are just getting their --- kicked by better organizations at the moment.

    All true but...

Ferrari is not a team of the mind but of the heart.
    It's what makes it special.

    Glad you understand.

Now we can discuss if being tifosi is a blessing or a curse.

Thus Flavio did exactly the right thing, and this supports my belief that he was a good qualifier but not a good racer, ie. he was able to keep himself motivated for the qualifying but then lost interest in the race.

A race car is hardly ever perfect, good drivers understand that and adapt ... MS, etc.

Trulli was just a very fast lapper, not a complete race driver.

Ferrari will always be different than other teams, but all sports teams suffer ups and downs. That's why you cheer your team through thick and thin....
