New to Forum and Just Ordered F458 for July/Aug

Thank you for the quick reply. Can you please answer the following two questions?

1. If I don't order it, and it still comes in body color, what do I get for the $1179?
2. Is the sill different on the standard car vs. a car that has sports sills?

As you can tell, I am confused by the Ferrari Website...

 

If you don't order it, it comes in the body color. Below is mine as an example. What you get is $1179 more in your pocket because you didn't ask for this option

The painted and unpainted sill is exactly the same except one is painted and one is not.

That is, unless you order it in CF version. That is obviously made of a different material. I think the basic one is ABS plastic (like the front nose/bumpers and fenders) but I'm not exactly sure.

In any event, if you want them to paint the sills, it costs you $1179. If you don't want them painted, they actually do you a big favor in not charging you anything for this service.

Depending upon how you configure your car I might suggest ordering the painted sills...on the right exterior color it really helps to define the curves of the bodywork.

 

Ya know it's funny but I don't care for the painted grills. To me, it's a bit artificial. But everyone has their own way of approaching the look. There is no right or wrong answer. It's whatever the owner likes.

 

I think the painted sills are a great touch depending on the exterior color. Red, white and yellow IMO look very good with the painted sills. There are lots of examples in the official picture thread for you to see.

 

Thank you for your help. I am ordering mine in Rosso Corsa, and I will accept the "free" body color sills since I like the look on your car.

 

I think you have just taken the pebble from my hand, grasshopper.

 

Here is the outer sill and sill kick in carbon fiber. I love the CF on yellow. Bob is right, to each his own. There are things that I love that other people don't care for at all. I think Rossa Corsa is beautiful, but Giallo just screams to me!

I completely agree with you...Red, White and Yellow pull off the painted sills option very well...but the standard sills look too.

 

Not sure I would do CF on another body color, but for yellow it was worth it to me! I've spec'd it again for my July/August build. My taste is to definitely cover the exterior sill in CF or black paint. It makes the body more curvy....like a beautiful woman.
