Just got back from Vegas, and did the tour over at Penske... I have to say what a total dissapointment... mostly used cars, nothing really special up stairs or down stairs... friendly to me, but kinda crappy to father & kid who came by to look.... and the Ferrari Store - had .... NOTHING.... just really bad t shirts, no models/ books/ videos etc... i was very disappointed from what I've heard.... to me FOA is Millions of times better... in just the cars that are on the floor. they will always be best in customer svcs.

Really? How were they crappy to the Father and Son? They are always super nice, I didn't look around the store to much to touch on that to much. They are top notch on service and the staff is very friendly, I am good friends with the service manager there and I stand by their work. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience :/

+1. They have a world class service facility and staff. As to the store, they rotate their inventory so much due to the incredible amount of traffic they get that you really only see the very latest boring stuff, unlike FOA that still has inventory from years back.
Same goes with their showroom. As a lover of older cars, I hardly ever see any except in the service area. These guys sell a lot of new cars, very little used inventory.

All the father & son wanted to do was get a picture up close to a 458 at the entrance and they were going to make them pay $10 each....? anyhow... as for cars, they had a couple of FF's and 2 new 458's and the rest were used 458's and 430's... several Maseratis... on the whole - i just did not see what the big deal was all about ... hated the hotel ....not my cup of expresso

Oh my, they asked them to PAY to take a photo of a car? That is waaaay out of bounds and unacceptable. I've been going to FAF/FoA since 1982 and they have always gone out of their way for me especially when I was a punk kid with a camera. Never once did they hassle me and I'm still friends with all of the folks there. FoA has always done me right.

It's ten dollars to get in unless you can prove you have a Ferrari.

Otherwise the casino folks would overrun the place.

I was in Vegas early last month and although i loved the Wynn hotel, i had a pretty crap experience at the Ferrari dealership. I don't wear branded clothing or buy any Ferrari stuff so the shop being crap didn't bother me, to be expected. I did however want to go into the Ferrari section to have a look around. $10 per person to get in unless you prove you own a Ferrari. Well apparently about 22 pictured of my 360 in various different locations around Europe (with reg in shot in some) wasn't enough to convince them. I told them as a Ferrari owner and fan, i was interested in having a look around their facility and wouldn't be paying $10 to see cars i can see every single day in London.

Very disappointing and i found them incredibly arrogant. There wasn't a single person in there.

I think they may need to be overrun... I guess it was about 11AM... we ran in for a peek... and there were 3 other people there. what i loved is the photo set up in the basement... so you can have a picture of you in a Ferrari... now that is Vegas! Will & the boys at FOA could do the same and make a few $$$ on the side with just the picture thing!

I dont really gamble, so did not spend much time in the casinos, but it was noticably "off" with the number of people there. lots of convention traffic ... we spend most of our time at the Spa, and dining. Also saw Jerry Sienfeld - great tickets right up front - that was the reason for our trip.

    Hey, its my dealer so....

I'd like to see any other dealer have a family of 5 from Podunck Ohio walk into their dealership carrying slurpies and cameras in their hands and get any attention from the staff other than... "sorry, we only allow customers in the showroom".

Kai is right. This place gets a lot of walk in people from the Casino and hotel. It's about crowd control. If you didn't, you'd have chaos there. Remember, it's primary goal is to sell cars and service customers (of which I am one) and entertain secondly.

Most people who come there would NEVER, EVER, EVER step into a Ferrari dealership in their lives because of INTIMIDATION. But, at Wynn Penske, they can -- and they do.

It's not for F car owners. It's for the tourist trade. If you want a museum, go to Maranello. It's a dealership and it sells whatever it has in inventory.

And, it's provided 2 excellent tech sessions for Fchatters on a Saturday mornings where the entire staff came in on their off weekend (so that it would better be able meet everyone's schedule) opened the shop to us, made a presentation on technical questions we prepared in advance,

Criticize it if you like. Just understand that it's there not for you.

Its there for some kid who still has a dream who can say when he goes back to Podunck Ohio can tell his friends: "I was in a Ferrari dealership"

So basically it's in the casino but they dont want Ferrari owners from out of town & they dont want podunck Ohio people there, but if you pay $10 they will put up with you? NICE ... they must have the Ferrari North America spirit!

Sorry to have offended - just reporting what I saw... they did have a nice shop area.

If you're from Po dunck ohio and happen to be in Atlanta - not only will they NOT charge youto enter, you can actually expect to talk to someone nice at the FOA dealership they have "Tourist's" all the time.

It's really about crowd control. If they didn't do it that way it could get ugly. I remember the first year they opened there were lines out the door and around the casino floor just to get in. The store itself set new sales records over any other Ferrari store in their first year. FOA is like comparing apples and oranges. While both have tremendous service and staff, the locations alone are simply worlds apart.

The problem is some owners think the world owes them something because they own a key with a horse on it.

To the average Joe, this is a real treat. It's too bad that some don't care that the little people should be entitled to dream.

I'm not offended. I'm just setting the record straight. You I'm sure would be happy if they located the dealer 20 miles out of town where no "tourist" would dare go to. Excuse them for putting it in a place where real people can come and gawk.

If I visited your dealership and they didn't kiss my feet, I don't think I'd post it though.

    But that's just me.

When I was there a few years ago, everyone was very polite and helpful. Presented my FCA card for free admission, and had the place to myself. Toured upstairs and downstairs withno restrictions, on my own.
The Ferrari Store was nothing special. Same shirts and stuff you see at all the dealers.

Penske Wynn is by far the best Ferrari experience to date after dealing with 4 other Ferrari dealersips. I walked in 18 months ago, dressed in slacks and polo shirt nothing special. Told them I wold like to look at a few cars, girl up from said no problem. Walked in and was treated so well I bought a 2008 Scuderia of the floor. You might have seen it as its back on the showroom floor...Daytona Nero with red interior. Ordered my 458 a few months after my Scud purchase and Scud went back to Vegas in late Dec. FOA wouldn't give me the time of day when I inquired about a 458 order. At the time I had a Stradale and told them as such. For what it's worth I think the 10 bucks to come and be a tourist is a necessity. They have to pay employees to monitor the 10 buck customers. FOA doesn't charge 10 bucks because they don't have to have 6-8 extra employees just to monitor the fleet while Bob and the family walk around. Think about it and it makes perfect sense... Wynn is my dealership of choice and I live in Nashville. FOA can go get shagged! Maybe just recently with the economy turn FOA is kissing A$$ but what ever they should have treated me right when they had the chance and they would of had me as a customer. Their loss.....

Well in my case i just wanted to come in and walk around. I expected nothing else. They couldn't accomodate me. I have never ever been unable to walk into a Ferrari dealer anywhere in the world and simply walk around. Never been asked to prove ownership or pay either. I understand the casino element but their attitude towards me was idiotic, rude and pathetic. I let the hotel know as well.

By the way, if you are from out of town, how do you prove you own a Ferrari? The numerous photos of my car in different places in the UK and Europe, including some of me driving the damm thing on my phone was not good enough? So how do they qualify a genuine owner or not?

Heads shoved firmly up their own backside if you ask me.

May have seen it. If you are next to the Ferrari store and looking in through the window, is it on that level to the right?

Just show them your FCA card, you don't have to prove ownership of a Ferrari. The Lambo dealer in across the street does exactly the same thing.

I had a good experience there, as part of a pre-arranged tour with other fchatters. As if they would give a bad experience in that scenario.

The reason I'm bothering commenting on the thread is that I'm surprised at the store comments. When I was there a year ago the store had more genuinely interesting stuff than the showroom... I remember a handful of F1 tires, an F1 front wing, an F1 wheel, a display engine on a stand, and the coolest scale model of the Ferrari powered Arno XI hydroplane boat.

Now that i think about it, did I see a thread about one of Bob's rental condos that had that Arno XI model in it as part of the decor? LOL just put two and two together on that one.

An insurance card is a card that has your car insurance information on it. Most states (all?) require that you must have proof if liability coverage in your car at all times. When I pay my premium, I get two little cards showing my coverage. One I keep in my glove box in the car, the other maybe in my desk drawer or wallet, just depends.

So having an insurance card in our wallet is not as big a deal as "taking insurance documents with me on holiday" makes it sound
