bingo. I was going to say the same thing but was just double-checking when I saw your mister two picture. LOL. Like the interior though.
I agree. I tend to be one of those "hate the new version" people, but in this case I think it's a winner. This, and the new BMW Z4, are two extremely successful designs, and probably two of the best looking two seaters available new right now. I've seen the Z4 in the metal a few times; obviously haven't seen this Boxster yet. (In third place, I think the Aventador is a nice reworking of the Murcielago.)
We're already so far into the drive-by-wire era that one more Rube Goldberg device isn't all that surprising. My concern is that carmakers are glomming on a lot of complexity to the ancient IC engine rather than focusing on coming up with simpler drivetrain based on fuel cells and electricity. I wouldn't own any of these cars post-warranty.
http://www.autoblog.com/2012/03/06/2013-porsche-boxster-geneva-2012/ press release... Interesting color, not sure if I like it or not on the exterior but on first look I don't like it on the interior... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Autoweek has a review: http://www.autoweek.com/article/20120308/CARREVIEWS/120309852?utm_source=DailyDrive20120308&utm_medium=enewsletter&utm_term=article1more&utm_content=20120308-2012_Porsche_Boxster_S__Drive_review&utm_campaign=awdailydrive I'm surprised they rate the steering better than 911s. And Porsche claims 1.2 Gs on the skidpad with standard tires! Dave

This tech can probably be turned off and on like in the MB SLK55. It's great to have when your just tooling around in town, but then when you get on the back roads you flip a switch and the car comes alive.
Is stop start a default setting, so you have to hit the off switch every time. Car looks great, are they putting a serious motor in it at sometime, or is it stuck playing bridesmaid to the boulavadier 911, which is not the real deal anymore. Pls give us a cayman GT3.
Good stuff, thx for posting, although he sort of ran out of things to say at the end. I guess car reviews are hard to stretch beyond 5-6 minutes. Looks leaps and bounds better than the 986/987 versions. I think shortening the front overhang helps a lot visually, and the stacked headlamps are almost 917-ishly cool, more classic than ones on the 458.
Few things are sillier than repeatedly asking "Do I need more power?" when reviewing a sports car. A car like this, life in general for that matter, isn't about what you need: it's about what you enjoy. If the idea of having a 1000 normally aspirated ponies makes you happy, that's all the justification that's necessary. If 315hp do the trick, that's fine too. Here's an evo video that offers some interesting points on the car's styling: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8guRa1YrAWw&list=UUFwzOXPZKE6aH3fAU0d2Cyg&index=1&feature=plcp[/ame] PS The GT3s are also getting this less than feel-packed steering system (the M5 went with a hydraulic system.)

The only un-Porsche-like bit in that clip is the sport exhaust push button. It's a nerdy. I think I could live with a sports exhaust on a Boxster.
Cayman is WAY better looking then Boxter. No question in my mind. It's all in the lines... Big improvement over the older Boxter's though....
