Lately when leaving my home and going over a few bumps, I notice a rattle coming from the front fender wells on both sides of my scud. Almost sounds like a shock bracket is rattling loose on another piece or something of that nature. Only happens on rough roads and such.

Is this typical or may I have something loose?

Record a video. No noises should come from there. Something loose or worn out is possible.

At times, I hear a light thud coming out of the drive way; particularly when the car has been sitting for a week. I have dismissed it as the shocks leveling to their required position. No noise over bumps ect....

Do you think it can be the same sound?

I think it's the typical rattle coming from front anti roll bar, here almost every scud does it! The dealer should be aware of this too, usually you need only to lubrificate it every 6-8 months and that's it..

Do you have it on both sides? I have what you say on the left side and Im just assuming its really just under the dash. Only on a certain types of bumps I hear it. And its low key. I dont believe it could be a shock.

I was mean to have a look under the dash or I also think it could come from the front boot. But I have not had time, Im away from home for 4 weeks now.

The only sound that I hear out of the front RT fender is the low hum of a ecu.

I just had my 09 Scud in for it's annual service (3000 miles)....it is still under warranty and one of my issues was a clunking noise from the front end. I took it to the Ferrari dealer in Newport Beach and they said that it was some sort of noise from the front shocks....they took them off and lubricated the bottom of teh shock...not sure what part?...said it should last for the lifetime of the car.

All I can say is that the noise is completely gone. Wish you luck.

Thanks....I'm due for service in a couple of months and I called my dealer.....as I guessed he said he couldn't diagnose over the phone but probably nothing major (famous last words) so I'll wait until my annual service and warranty inspection...it's more annoying than anything as I hate rattles....

I've had the issue twice.. first time, it was a noise on passenger side. They replaced the sway bar link bushings.. problem went away for about 6 months and came back, this time on both sides. they replaced the bushings and the links the second time.. noise is gone, but it has only been a couple weeks since the replacement.

thanks for the info....my service advisor obviously couldn't diagnose it over the phone but said it doesn't sound like a safety issue so I'll drive it until Oct and get it in when it's due for service and inspection for another year of warranty....as long as it doesn't get worse I'll try to hold off as it's a 2 hour drive and getting a rental for a few days....
