I am having a get together at my office on May 5th from 10-1. I wanted to invite my FerrariChat friends. Basically I have hired a commercial grade shreding company to come to my office and provide services for three hours. A limit of two Banker boxes per person will be applied. I will be providing "shredded beef sandwiches and Shredded coleslaw" and sodas. There is no cost to attend I just thought it would be fun. So bring your cars after cars and coffee and shred on down. Please PM me if you are coming so I can prepare enough food . Thanks Jon in Delaware

A very nice invitation Jon, thank you. I will be in Doylestown PA at a Mopar show this Saturday, otherwise, I would stop by. I do have some things needing shredding.

Cool of you to do this for your F-chat buds!

This is a great idea for a meet, especially since I have a box of paperwork that I need to get shredded. Unfortunately I have previous arrangements for this coming Saturday.

    Great event hosted by Jon.

My father and I brought down what seemed to be 2-3hrs worth of paper shredding if done at home, but ended up taking 30 seconds at shred fest!

The shredded beef was very good as well.

I enjoyed meeting and talking to Judy, she's a great gal.

PS: I dig your office decor Jon. :)

You are all welcome...I want to buy one of those Shredding Trucks!!! I didnt know what to expect. The truck was a huge surprise. The guys who own the company could not have been nicer. The number and quality of the people attending was beyond my best expectations. Judy did a fabulous job of organizing the event. Monday I will post the actual number of pounds of paper shredded and it will be translated into trees and water saved as a result. Cant wait to see Alex's pics!! Thanks everyone. It was fun. Unique for sure. Jon in Delaware

Glad we could help everyone out with their boxes of confidential stuff. So the final tally. We shred 1510 pounds of paper. According to the shredding company that equates to seven trees saved due to the recycling of the paper product. And somehow we saved the consumption of 5000 gallons of water. Thats goin green baby!!
Now do you want to know the food products that use the shredded paper as an ingredient? I thought not. Jon in Delaware

    Oh, c'mon Jon. Dish.

    What food uses shredded paper.

As to saving 5,000 gallons of water, water is a prime ingredient in paper, it's about 8% water. So, if I make a ton of paper, 160 lbs of it is water.

Also, water is used in huge quantities, during the manufacture of paper, I think 5,000 gallons used during the process of making under 2,000 lbs of paper is correct, but it's not just tossed, it's recycled, again and again, at the mill.

And that's it for your paper making lesson of the day.

    Dave
