Anyone from here doing this track day? I'm looking at going up Saturday arvo.
always a nice man Jim,apart from the bloody cigars. without him that club would have died, its a credit the effort he has put into that group.
Would anyone who is visiting or talking to Jim please send him my regards. Ulf Danielsson, lived in Melbourne 1989-1997
Yep unfortunately Jim has been of bad health for just over 12 months now and RB you're right you always knew he was around as you can 'smell' him before you see him..!! Brett, as far as going up there not quite sure at this stage as havent heard anything
Hey Brett, You take note of lines, braking points and Tyre pressures etc.for me and I'll be more than happy to shout you a red or two later in the year.Ken
Hi guys, I'm on the club's committee, Jim is fading away now, He has had a lung removed for fairly obvious reasons and his other one Isn't in good shape at all, cannot breathe unassisted. I visited him on Friday and his brain is functioning fine, his body is falling apart around him however. I'm due to see him later on today again so I'll pass on my regards. At the current rate I don't think he'll see another month out. We''ve said that before and he's always rallied but all his strength is gone so the tough old warhorse is slowly fading. Very sad.
Please do Jack,It'd be good to catch up with you next time I'm down. You won't remember me from Targa though(tooo many vino's plus I was driving a Volvo, I've since graduated from them.
I beleive so Darren. PM me your e-mail address and I'll forward you a copy of the entry form. We can catch up for dinner on the Saturday night if you want?
I could have my arm twisted. I have the weekend off. Was contemplating going to see the Wallabies have a crack at Wales on the Saturday night, but have no got off my arse to get tickets. Need to be back in town on the Sunday as work overnight is the only thing. have you got digs sorted out Brett?
Yep, I always stay at Top of the Town. Walk to restaurants. I'll be going up Saturday arvo, PM me closer to the date and we can travel together if you want. I'll be driving straight back on Sunday, have to fly to Sydney Monday morning. It's only 2.5 hours from Winton to Melbourne.
For anyone that is interested, Jim's funeral details are as follows: 14th May 2012 10am WD Rose, 139 Marriage Rd (cnr Nepean Hwy), Brighton Cheers Sean
Bump. Just a reminder guys the Winton track day is on this weekend. A few of us are travelling up together. PM me if you wish to join us and want the meeting point and time.
