How does a 330 GTS like that (having a replacement engine from a 330 GTC) get Ferrari Classiche certified? Kinda defeates the purpose imo.
I suspect was Ferrari Classiche before the GTC engine. Recall almost buying a GTC that was Ferrari Classiche certified, but after inspect, the certification was done in 2005, and car was poor restored in 2008 with inferior/incorrect parts.
There is a small bunch of Aussie(oy,oy,oy)/Kiwi Fchatters on their way over to the auction. If any folk here are going please try to take care of them. Brett,Scott and 1 or 2 others, you'll identify Brett he is,bald and possibly holding onto a sheep.
And some new footage of the Arno XI Hydroplane http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03Onlgc_hj4&feature=youtu.be E
!!!! Some potentially fabulous audio in that video and they overdubbed trash music!!! WTF? Have just sent an irate email to Peter Wallman!
The information on chassis 0192 ET (1952 225 Sport Spyder "Tuboscocca") puzzles me. Listed as race entries for 1953 are twice the "Premio Verano" and also twice the "Gran Premio de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires" (suspiciously with identical results for Ibanez in both cases). I assume this is a slipup? I known there was a "Premio Verano" on the 22th of Februari 1953 and a "Gran Premio de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires" on the 1st of February 1953.
Thank you Boudewijn. This matches with my list for 1953, only I have the "Mendoza" race of 53/Jun/21 as "Grand Prix Governador Carlos Evans". Finding correct results for South American races in the fifties is quite challenging!
It just has to be the correct tipo. Both the 330 GTS and GTC (and 2+2) use the type 209 engine. If you don't have the right block, Classiche will be glad to cast a new one of the correct type for many, many euros.
From what I have this race took place at Mendoza and was called the " Primo [or grand prix} Gogernador Carlos Evans. Ibanez finished 2 OA. The othere events in the list apear to be correct. tongascrew
These results are correct according to my records. I would only add the car was sold some time during the summer[our winter] to Rafael Acosta. tongascrew
The last known race during the ownership of Ibañez was on 19 December 1954 according to the RM catalogue. Also Cris Bertschi's book doesn't mention Acosta as owner.

Can anyone post Friday's auction results? They weren't on RM's web site when I checked. Thanks. Jack.
Our blokes' went over mainly for the Ducati's and MV's and were.................................. underwhelmed by the condition and description of them.
TRC hammered at 4.5M euros. Does anyone know what brown Porsche RS hammered at as well as Dino 206S and Tom's 375MM?
Brown RS I think sold for roughly 240'000 (although I am not sure about that), the 375 MM did not find a buyer and the Vignale Ferrari Spyder sold for 2.25m hammer (excluding fee's). Generally I find the results pretty weak with many lots not finding a buyer so far (RM is known for closing many deals after auction though).
