Run Out East ROE (May 12, 2012) Save the Date

It appears for the first time the ROE may be sold out! Both in terms of room for cars and lunch.
If you have already paid, of course you are fine. If I got a firm RSVP, you are also on the list. Anyone else after today runs the risk of not being able to purchase the lunch or parking in the lower lot (away from the show field).

Are you guys meeting somewhere specifically so we all drive out east together?

Seems like we can meet at Brown's Fiat in Patchogue. I wouldn't be opposed to meeting at a rest stop along the LIE and drive out together. There is a rest stop 1.5 miles passed the 231 (Deer Park Ave) exit on the LIE. I think it might be exit 51.

 

Yes there is a rest stop there ...besides Clyde anyone else coming from the NJ or the boro . Clyde I can meet you somewhere on LIE and drive out to whatever meet point.

How far off 53 is Brown place ? Or Manhasset mall so we could get breakfast .

Hello ALL:

As of now we are pretty much at capacity. I have not had this show at this venue before, so not sure. I hate to not be able to accommodate everyone. If you want to come your are very welcome, but not sure availability of parking your car on the main display field, or if the BBQ will have extra meals.

There's a Park and Ride off exit 52 on the LIE if you want to meet there.

Let's get a list of who wants to meet up at this spot so we can have a nice group to go out. The western Nassau and NJ people can meet up here as well.

There is a park and ride at Exit 52 Commack Road. Right on the service road. We are meeting at 9:00.

For those attending the ROE.

Looks like great weather. Below are directions to the Montauk Manor.

Some of you I know will be meeting up at Browns FIAT of Patchogue.

Once you go past the Traffic Circle in the middle of the town of Montauk and are on Edgemere Drive
you will see the Montauk Manor sign on your right. Take the right and go up the long drive on your left.

If you are spectator, park in the asphalt parking lot on the left that you will see a short drive up the hill.


If you are showing your car, proceed further up the drive and go past the main entrance and onto the grass showfield. I or some one else will be there to help you park. We ask that everyone park as close together as possible without risking damage.


All people with show cars on the field must stop by the Registration table, whether prepaid or not.

All spectators who have prepaid for lunch or wish to buy a lunch also need to stop by the registraion table

PLEASE VOTE FOR YOUR CAR OF CHOICE for the concours between 12 and 1!

Awards and door prizes are at 1 and lunch at 1:30.

Directions to Montauk Manor
1.Take the Long Island Expressway to Exit 70: County Road 111, Manorville (Sign says "Alternate Route to Montauk").
2.At the end of the ramp, turn right and proceed south.
3.Drive to the end of 111. The road will curve sharply to the left and will lead you onto Route 27 East (Sunrise Highway).
4.Proceed east on Route 27 for about an hour to an hour-and-a-half into the town of Montauk.
5.Drive into the main business section of Montauk (Route 27 East becomes Main Street in Montauk). On your left you will see the Chase Bank. Turn left at the Chase Bank, go half way around the semi-circle, and make another left onto Edgemere Street.
6.Proceed on Edgemere for one mile. You will see the train station on the left and Montauk Fire Department on the right. Just past the Fire Department, on the right, is our sign for Montauk Manor. Bear right and follow the driveway up the hill.
7.To enter through the main doors, drive past the tennis courts to the front of the building.

I'm heading out from NNJ via the GWB -> LIE.

Word of warning on the Exit 52 P&R gathering spot...

There is a red light camera at the intersection of the L.I.E. service road (which you'll be on as you exit the highway) and Commack Road. So be alert.

You can enter the parking lot from either the Service Road, or turn right on Commack and make an immediate left. Of the two, the Service Road entrance is safer as you don't need to cross over the oncoming lanes on Commack Road.

See you there in the morning! I have a couple great 'side' road twisties we can use on the way out there, right along the way. They'll break up the highway monotony nicely!
