I replaced my 456 with a new battery and alternator , when I start up my car, the battery light will come on then go away, everytime is like that. I am getting around 13.3 volts on start up. Could it be the alternator belt which I didn't change?

Hi mate, it could be a loose alternator belt that slips on start up causing the battery light to stay on then it goes out when the belt 'grips'.

Re-check the tension on the belt man. I am assuming that it doesn't 'squeal' on start up, so it might be ok.

Are you sure they ALL don't have the battery on then off on start up. I am not familiar with the charging system on the 456.

Why did you replace the battery and alternator to begin with?? Because of this issue you are having now?
