Saw this (same car, not my photo) tonight in Skokie. http://www.exoticspotter.com/maserati-grancabrio-chicago-illinois-66668
Where you taking pictures of the barchetta and the Qvale Mangusta? I was there with the owner and speaking with Dave Alexander.
Saturday in Barrington, a grey Quattroporte Sunday in Barrington, a silver Rolls Royce Silver Cloud & an orange LP560-4
This happened yesterday apparently. Anyone recognize the car? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=1pgm8I0B8bY
I would like to make the owner an offer on the car, anyone know him? Sorry have been looking for a damaged gallardo for ages!
You beat me to it. I was going to post this. Wondering the same thing. Does anyone know where this is? Looks like northwest of the city, maybe Niles or Park Ridge?
That's about the second or third time I've seen that happen in a gallardo. I've driven plently of high performance cars on the street and track and never had a problem like this. To me that doesn't speak very highly of the engineering. Or are these that difficult to drive?
Yes, the 458 was actually being driven by Marco Mattiacci and the Rapide were both in Southampton, the GTO was in East.
Well, this struck me as odd too, because the car is AWD and it really doesn't look like he was pushing it all that hard. Maybe he had the traction control off?
The tires could also be old/shot. It happened to me in the Porsche a few years ago and it has even less HP than the G. I got sideway very quickly.
True but 911's are supposed to get sideways. Although I've found it's next to impossible to get sideways in anything made after the 993. As pointed out above this is a mid engine all-wheel-drive car and he doesn't appear to be pushing it very hard. I saw a very similar car do a very similar thing on the way out of supercar Saturdays in Bolingbrook last year.
My 911 is a 997 C4S and it's usually very safe but that day with the tires shot, that corner felt like i was on ice.
