    :)

Other than my sports pack TV subscription and my handy-dandy timing app I haven't given Bernie dollar one since the 2004 US GP.

I also swore I'd never buy another Michelin tire......

But I remain an avid F1 fan..... :)

    Cheers,
    Ian

Haha, it does. It would look cool with the copper and white with his signature on the back in maroon but I don't like the maroon tribal theme.

    As do we all.
Just by being in and increasing the demographic of those who watch F1 on TV we add to what he charges SPEED.
And when you buy any of the fine products advertised there....

Is that really true though? [Smilies deleted in the interest of bandwidth btw ;)]

    My understanding (and I'm open to being wrong here), is that SPEED (NBC) has the rights in the US for a few more years. Dunno how much they paid, and the 'net is coming, but;

Viewing figures have zero impact to Bernie is my point I guess....

    Cheers,
    Ian

    Yup. Early days of F1!
The track is right next to Paul Ricard. Package deal ;). Playboys fly in on their jets, drive about and then fly back again :D. Haven't heard the story if Slav owns the track (+airport one would assume) now. Could be possible...
    That plane is the sex!

    OK.

And I suspect they don't pay the Pygmy very much at all for the rights - I have no idea on viewing figures, but guess they're not that high and is the reason, as you say, "we get no respect".......

But, I do think that's all about to change. I thought more on my question of how he's going to license the broadband feed. How about, say, half a dozen outfits get the raw feed and can massage it anyway they like. Punters then subscribe to whatever level they choose; Free timing, A small fee for camera choice. A larger fee for data etc etc.

Then let the market decide who's done the best job and pay accordingly. No more geographic licensing - Let me subscribe to whoever I believe is doing the best job regardless of where they're (or I) am based.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Thanks. While I will give it a read the reviews (at Amazon) are generally pretty scathing. *Many* factual errors etc; Apparently, Carlos Reutemann won the WDC for example!

Kind of calls in to question anything else in there..... "Caveat emptor" ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

With the new Concorde how the sport is financed and distributed will be quite different.
