First older Ferrari I had the good fortune to take on track was Watts Hill, Jr's first Lusso that he bought back in 1972 from GM designer, Chuck Jordan. No bumpers made it very clean, but vulnerable...

This was back in 1984 at a FCA Southeast Meet at Roebling Road in Savannah with Watts, Tom Williamson, Steve Barney, Mason Cox and Bob Rapp in attendance. Still have an album of snapshots. He turned me loose for hours as I reverentially squealed tires all the way around the long, flat and fast corners of that great little track.

Amazing car. He bought another Lusso later on after selling the ex-Jordan car and showed it at the 1993, 1994 and 1999 FCA Annual Meets with distinction.

It was love at first push of the key!

Enjoy, Fred. Without a doubt, the prettiest (and first dedicated) road car Ferrari ever built!

Beautiful car! Reminds me of how many design cues other manufacturers took from Ferrari. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I earned some of my college money in the early 70's buying and selling but couldn't get close to Ferrari - enjoyed them through the design similarities of others. Fortunately, I can participate now. Enjoy the car!

    Fred -

Absolutely stunning car as I would expect. Love the color as it seems to highlight the details even more. Thanks for sharing the joy as always.

I'll have some beauty shots taken at the shop next week using something other than a cell phone. They all look good in the pictures though. Ha!!

Absolutely exquisite. The Lusso is one of the most beautiful of all Ferraris. I had a toy one as a child and never forgot it. I have never seen a real one in person. I look forward to one day seeing yours at C&C in Brier Creek.

Now that just defines automotive beauty. Congratulations, Fred.

Can one of you cognoscenti please let me know the origin of the "Lusso" name?

Steve Barney would be the authority on this but I understand Lusso is Italian for luxury. The Lusso was the first car with an interior finished to this level of trim.

Haven't seen it but if it involves classic Ferraris I'll make the effort.

    Sweeeeeeet car Fred.

BTW...........the BP station at the corner of Kildaire Farm Road and Maynard Road in Cary sells the 110 octane fuel. Kinda pricey, but the difference it makes between the 95 octane is surprisingly apparent.
