Nice one, still in France ? She doesn't look like in bad condition. This one in not in the registry. Did you get the Bertone body number ? A black Countach nose just ahead of it...
1971 Chicago Auto show Found this accidentally while researching another topic...How did google know I like Espadas? Can't tell if its metallic brown, or gunmetal silver. Check out the JC Whitney goodies too... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Over here Bosco is a brand name made famous with a lot of advertising towards kids in the 1950's through 1970's that's used as a chocolate syrup flavoring for milk, ice cream and cake! [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-aCP3SVu-Q[/ame] Now available for Lamborghini's too!
Hi All, Yes, I am working on the S3 now...going where no Espada man wishes. It's all about the Adventure. Robert Huber Image Unavailable, Please Login
No....what's under the hood is a guy, maybe in his 50's! haha....hope that smile last thoughout! Seriously, thanks for posting that picture. Never seen the skin off it before.
He could just go with a West Coast Customs approach and finish the frame really nicely maybe even chrome plate it and then put a translucent skin over it to highlight all the mechanicals. Then an ear splitting sound system and a popup LED 3D flat screen in the rear cargo area. Have to put those blue LEDs along the rocker panels and an under carriage lighting system that pulses to the beat of the music too. Then there's the spinners issue. The Bond thing is out. But making them spin freely independent of the wheels would be just killer.
I applaude your bravery!! Gary Espada 8394 p.s. when i redid mine we stuck hard felt paper where we could as we didnt separate the bonnet like shown here . I did hire an aluminium welder to remake all four corners where electrolisis had taken its toll
I hate to say it, but I think that data plate is a fake, or at least, it was put on later. First off, the rivets are aluminum, not brass. Also, it doesn't have the "Omologazione" number (6857 OM --for omologazione), which was the law in Italy at the time to have both on the car and on the title paper. Also, the engine number is four digits, and engine number should be five, most likely starting 40XXX. That's not necessarily to dispute the car's lineage, but I would like to see the Bertone factory serial number stamped on the right side of the engine compartment before accepting its claimed heritage.
Early Espada, Islero and Miura always have a 4 digit engine number. Later Espadas have a 5 digit engine number starting with 40xxx or 41xxx. The first Espadas were homologated under the same number as the 400GT2+2 and Islero; IGM4831OM, later they were homologated under IGM6857OM. This car was delivered before they got the final homologation number. Ive never seen a data plate for an early Espada (roughly the first 50) with 6857OM on it. Below is a picture with the Bertone body number on #7090. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ah, well I admit that I've never seen a car earlier than my old S1, which was #113. This is #38 so it is indeed really early. Very nice.
Fab, As I promissed last week about #7090, here is it Bertone code... and original S1 dash with some kilometers on the clock... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Closeup pictures of the Bertone Pirana that went up on ebay last year in Palm Springs. http://automotivetraveler.fotki.com/from-the-archives-5/
Thanks for posting this. There are a lot more photos in this link. I love the gas filler necks upholstered in leather. We could use that ... I didn't know it was an automatic. So many similarities. The door arm rests and handles ... The Power window switches. The lettering on the rear fenders. Jag was never going to build this. It looks nothing like a Jaguar.
Wow, they did a lot of restoration since the earlier pics, but that price is ridiculous. It might be worth a couple hundred grand at most. The car is beautiful and the Jag E Type roots make it interesting, but I don't see it getting that much. It was a minor show car from a 2nd tier auto show.
I erred, looks live there's a single gas tank door so those aren't gas filler tubes on the interior. The rear quarter slats must be for ventilation ...
