Obviously new to the forum but eager to get to know some of you and hopefully talk your ear off about getting into Ferrari ownership. I am looking for a local San Antonio/Austin owner of a 90's 308, 328, or 360 owner that can give some sage-like advice and let me look at and or drool on your vehicle. Thank you in advance!

    Buy a 360 if you're torn between those 3.

If you find a 90's 308 you better jump on it, it would be pretty rare. ;)

Hahaha yeah I just noticed that i screwed that up. Ok let me revise :)

    Looking at an 70's or 80's 308/328/ OR a 90's 348.

Will I would love to come and check out your car, both for myself and a friend that is interested as well. Where are you at exactly? Did you ever figure out what is going on with the alternator?

    Thanks everyone

Spanky -- give some thought to Cars & Coffee this Saturday morning 5/26, NW corner of Blanco and 1604 behind Pannera Bread. There's always several F-cars (I usually bring my 360) along with an incredible variety of other cars to warm the heart of any carguy. A great opportunity to chat with real owners in a casual and friendly environment. Be there early (like 8:00 AM) and you won't be sorry.

Take care and hope to see you there!

As the owner of a 328 for the last 11 years, if I were buying my first car now, it would likely be a 360.

Though I DO love my car.

There is a yellow 355 for sale at Barrett in SA that is quite nice, and a NART blue 360 for sale at York Street Motors in Boerne too. I'm currently driving a 456M but plan to add a 360 to my garage as soon as I find the right one, so I'd be happy to swap info. Best bet is to read the forums for the models you are looking for.

Personally, I wouldn't go back past the 355 if I were you, and if you can afford a 360, that is the best bang-for-your-buck mid-engine V-8 Ferrari right now, IMO (Which is why I'm looking for one). General rule of thumb is, a manual six-speed will require less maintenance than the early F1 transmissions. After the 2002 model year, I believe, the F1 was updated in the 360, so an '03 or '04 F1 360 is a very nice car.

I've decided on a gated 360 with the super-rare sunroof, so I'll probably be looking for a while. lol.

    Cheers,

    George

Seems like a lot of people are sharing that same sentiment right now on the 360 being the best affordable Ferrari. Truth be told a $30,000 Ferrari (328, 308) would be doable for me however when I look at the going rate for a well maintained 360 I essentially double that cost. I have talked to some great people on here and gotten a chance to meet a few in person. It has been really encouraging to see some very down-to-earth people owning these cars and being happy with them but I still have that worry of whether or not I am at $30,000 car guy or a $60,000 car guy. I realize if that thought is running through my head I should already have my answer but I would still love to hear others thoughts. Thanks again to all those who have taken the time to answer questions and post up here.
