Anyone have a link to yesterdays results? Specifically the Bluette Alfa Romeo 101 Sprint?
You might continue to check these pages - they may eventually update with the results: www.finecars.cc/en/editorial/article/news/coys-at-monaco/index.html http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/find/4200_results.asp?lDealerID=13311 Coys' own website is pretty useless. >8^) ER
Any idea how my fathers old RR Phantom 3 went? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This might make finding them a bit easier: http://www.finecars.cc/en/editorial/article/news/coys-legend-et-passion-monaco-auction-12-may-2012/index.html >8^) ER
Nik from Coys here.. I am going to try and post our results here for you,.. The Gorgeous Giulietta was a no sale and was bid to 35000 euros, close but not close enough for a sale.. We have the right to sell the car another 10 days if anyone is interested.. Nik Hannah ( privatly )
Nik - would you care to comment why Coys are so reluctant to publish sales prices ? They sometimes leak onto your site about six months after the event whereas every other house manages within about 48 hours
I am aware of it and am trying to change this. Until I have managed to so I will give ferrarichat an unofficial list.. There are many post auction sales and we dont know what is sold and not until payment arrives.. But I am trying to get webcam broadcasts and online results etc but it is not done in a day... Things change slowly in the UK.. I am working on it.. Nik

I don't know where you got these numbers, but I'm pretty sure quite a few cars listed as unsold were sold and vice-versa. For example, the 540K sold for sure, I believe the hammer price was 1.030 MEUR. I was in the room and scribbled them down on my catalog. I wish I could find it!

Ludo, There are definitely some errors in the list you posted. The 993 GT2 for example was hammered at 220KEUR.
If other auction companies can post sales lists in 48hrs why can't Coys. I must admit they have been slow to post for the past 10 years plus, if at all.
Good luck with it Nik but do note that Bonhams publish within 24hrs and RM very close to that... No doubt you are hampered by all of Douglas's 'dodgy' post sale deals..lol
Ok, these are the results I wrote down during the auction. I am not, by any means, claiming that they are right, and they are of course without premium. I don"t really understand how the auction was conducted as it was my experience that the hammer drop meant "Sold", and that some seemed to be "hammered", yet remaining unsold. As you can see, I pretty much stopped listening after the M3 101 Electric Porsche Child's Car - Sold 5,750 102 2008 Carver One - Not sold 103 1959 Vespa Militare - Sold 10,000 104 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint - Not sold, 32,000 105 1983 The ex Louis Knie of Swiss Cirkus Knie Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit - Sold 35,000 106 1968 Chevrolet Corvette C 3 - Sold 25,000 107 1956 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL Roadster - Sold 40,000 108 1993 Ferrari 512 Testarossa - Not sold 109 1959 Mercedes-Benz 220 S Cabriolet - Not sold 110 1961 Porsche 356B T5 Roadster - Sold 70,000 111 1969 Lamborghini Espada Series 1 - Not sold, 50,000 112 1961 MG 1600 Roadster - Not sold 113 1964 Lancia Flaminia 2.8 Litre Coupe - Not sold, 15,000 114 1991 Bentley Continental R - Sold 45,000 115 1972 De Tomaso Pantera Type 874 Group 3 - Sold 75,000 116 1987 Maserati Bi-Turbo Spyder - Not sold, 15,000 117 1970 Porsche 911 E 2.2 - FIA Papers - Sold 30,000 118 1965 Jaguar E-Type Convertible Semi lightweight - Sold 115,000 119 1955 Porsche 356 Pre A Speedster - Not sold 135,000 120 1957 Lancia Aurelia B24 Convertible - Not sold, 190,000 121 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Sport Cabriolet "A" - Sold 1,030,000 122 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster - Sold 510,000 123 1971 Ferrari 246 GT Dino - Ex Frank Williams / Tony Dean - Sold 135,000 124 1958 Lotus 15 - Sold 180,000 125 1954 Jaguar XK140 - Sold 90,000 125A 2011 Ferrari 599 GTO - Only 50km from New - Not sold, 330,000 126 1950 Jaguar MK V Drophead Coupe - Not sold, 55,000 127 1973 Lamborghini Jarama 400 GTS - Sold 128 1966 Registered Ford GT40 by Superformance - Not sold 129 1936 Aston Martin DB4 Series V Vantage Coupe - Sold 210,000 130 1960 Lotus Elite- Ex Jay Chamberlain - Sold 77,000 131 1955 Alfa Romeo 1900 Coupe C SS - Not sold 90,000 132 1970 Lamborghini Espada P400GT Series II - Sold 42,000 133 1974 Lancia Fulvia III 1.3S - Not sold 11,000 134 1966 Ferrari 330 GT 2 2 - Sold 85,000 134A Fiat 500D - Sold 14,500 135 1990 Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible - Sold 25,000 136 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera - Not sold 32,000 137 1936 Delage D6 - Not sold 132,000 1968 Aston Martin DB6 - Sold 130,000 139 1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta TI Race Car - Sold 16,000 140 1962 Morgan Plus 4 Drophead Coupe - Not sold 27,000 141 Evanta Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato - Sold 125,000 142 1937 Bentley 4.5 Litre Blower - Sold 200,000 143 1983 Ferrari 512 BBi - Sold 45,000 144 1959 Morgan 4/4 - Sold 20,000 144A Ford Mustang Eleanor recreation - Not sold 50,000 145 1972 Porsche 911 2.4 E - FIA Papers - Not sold 35,000 146 1971 Renault Alpine A110 1600 Group 4 - Not sold 63,000 147 1982 Ferrari 512 BBi - Not sold 75,000 148 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Coupe - Sold 600,000 149 2007 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren - 4,000 miles & one owner from new - Not sold 180,000 150 1964 Ferrari 330 GT 2 2 Series 1 - Not sold 151 1936 Rolls-Royce Phantom III 3 Position Drophead - Sold 1,020,000 152 Pur Sang Bugatti Type 35B - Not sold 153 1956 Porsche 356 A Cabriolet - Not sold 74,000 154 1964 Alfa Romeo 2600 Spyder by Touring - Sold 45,000 155 2000 British American Racing 020 Ex-Formula One Racing Chassis - Sold 35,000 156 1982 Chevrolet Corvette C3 - ? 157 1979 Ferrari 400 Mille Miglia by Sbarro - Withdrawn 158 1935 Mercedes-Benz 500 K Cabriolet by Windovers - Not Sold 560,000 159 1964 Lotus 23 - Not sold 160 1925 Minerva AC Tourer - Sold 205,000 161 1988 Ferrari 328 GTS - Not sold 37,000 162 1984 Mitsubishi Pajero - Ex Works Paris-Dakar - Not sold 45,000 163 1913 Benz 1913 Benz 8/20 PS 'Runabout' Open Tourer - Sold 130,000 164 1966 Porsche 993 GT2 Club Sport - Sold 220,000 165 1990 BMW M3 Sport Evolution (E30) - Sold 67,000 166 1972 Ferrari 365 GT4 2 2 - ? 167 1971 Pellin Alfa Romeo Formula 2 - Not sold 168 1982 Maserati Khamsin - 15,000 miles from new - ? 169 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia TI Super 1600 - ?
A similar thing happened at the Artcurial Le Mans Classic auction in 2010 which led to some confusion over whether a particularly important car had been sold (it had not). Later I was told it is not uncommon in European auctions for the item to be hammered whether sold or unsold. >8^) ER
It is interesting that you bring up the way Artcurial did it. I know that in France, the hammer marks the end of the bidding on the particular item, but it doesn't actually defines whether or not it is sold. It is my understanding that, legally, the auctioneer has to say "Adjugé" (literally "awarded") to announce that a lot is sold.
