[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhKaedPTtTg&feature=youtube_gdata_player[/ame] Happened yesterday in Singapore, Chinese 31 w/ his mistress, taxi driver and his Japanese female passenger...all gone in one fatal second........RIP
Damn! That is the third video I watched in FChat today with an exoctic going all wrong due to driver error. The hell with this, I am walking home.
They should have an IO test before being allowed to buy a Ferrari, that person would have failed. The driver was a pure idiot - unfortunatley he took out some innocents with him. If you are going to go fast do it on the track or at least away from everyone, and not in build up areas - so if you make a mistake it's only you that suffers. We all love letting the horse loose sometimes - but that was stupid. Drive carefully fellows!
While we can not control the irresponsible actions of others, we as drivers, fall into a comfort zone and lower our guard on defensive driving. Having been involved in driving simulation and driver training for over a decade, it is with a sense of frustration to recognize that a simple scanning technique can and will decrease your exposure to intersection type collisions, nevertheless such technique is seldom used. On your next drive and on approach to an intersection or advance from a red light, evaluate yourself truthfully by confirming your visual scanning and brake cover technique ! " It is better to loose a second of your life, than your life in a second ! "
Imagine how the lucky the folks in the "camera car" must have felt after it all sank in.... Another second, they would have been the FIRST target. Jedi
Was posted by Marchettino. Apparently it was a 31yo guy in 599 GTO doing 200 km/hr (120+ mph). 3 killed (GTO driver, taxi cab driver, taxi passenger), serious spine injury to motorcyclist, serious injury to passenger of GTO. Whatta shame. http://marchettinoyoutube.blogspot.com/2012/05/shocking-ferrari-599-gto-crash.html http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2012/05/fatal-accident-with-ferrari-599-gto.html
This is no laughing matter. Many of us in Singapore are still experiencing te aftershock of that impact. It has struck right at the core of the social fabric that ties the nation together. A disgustingly rich Chinese expat with no regard for human life took the lives of innocent beings. His pain was short. The others suffered, fought for their lives but failed. This has got nothing to do with Supercars. It could well have been a Toyota. It's the mindset of this particular species of expats in my country that's absolutely screwing everything up. - your people and government certainly enjoy having their money and their re-badged "singaporean" athletes in your island state, - and your state also enjoys cheap chinese labour. Who else will make your coffee at the local coffee shop ? - but get worked up when they beat some lights ? .
