Right, let's put the cat amongst the pidgeons........

There's obviously varying opinions and emotions re this but it's interesting to find out who prefers what and why. Let's try to put favouritism for our personal vehicles aside and be totally objective about this ..... for example I won't mention that I think my 1978 Carbed 400 is best because I originally wanted an injected manual car until the quirky nature and music of the 6 webers won me over and I now wouldn't change it for anything.

Hopefully you will all see where I'm going with this and I'm certain that this could cause a few sparks so lets all be grown up and not offensive. Remember, we're all clever enough to see the beauty of this often misunderstood and undervalued Ferrari so all share something in common.

    Ok, who's first ?

    Let the fun begin....

I own a 400i manual. I haven't heard the carb model but based on the fact I've owned carbed bikes v injection I can see that noise and almost analogue / organic feel of carbs wins over injection, it makes the thought more "oldschool" and original design. Yet it seems thecarbs need more attention to keep it sweet? Eitherway both are cool. I'm glad I have a manual over the auto for similar reasons I guess, but in the end it's different strokes for different folks . They all look as cool as each other

Want ease and reliability -- go FI.

Want a car as GOD intended -- go Carb.

My 2nd (NOT 'NEXT') Ferrari will probably be carbed.

Had to "cut my teeth" first, after all.

Well I'll chime in for no other reason than stoking the fire...

I'm certain, even though my 412 isn't carb'd, that a carbed car has more sound since we can hear the sound of the intake air as well as the exhaust. Carb guys win on that one.

However, I absolutely love the even fuel distribution, the throaty exhaust, and the supreme realiability I've experienced with FI. So I'm a FI advocate.

Which ever way you go...if you go Ferrari you can't go far wrong...

Maybe as my hearing diminishes I'll need to switch to a carb car....
