    At the lake now, and measured my dock before I make any boat decision. I've got 10' width to work with, could be tight for a boat with a 8'6" beam. The other thing I've discovered is that my cradle is only 8' wide at it's attachment point.

    Nothing is easy. No boat has a narrower beam than 8'6" any more. :(

    No choice on the new lift, old one was destroyed. Likely a new cradle. Still going to be tight, a new boathouse isn't in the works. 18" clearance while docking a boat in moderate waves will require some seamanship.
