I've been collecting brochures for years. In the last couple of years, I started collecting Ferrari brochures. I've picked some up inexpensively, but no matter how much I pay, I always feel like Ferrari brochures are worth it because recent brochures all feature hardcovers, excellent photography, and, of course, a lot of information.

Last week I won my first La Ferrari yearbook on Ebay, the 2011 version. I really like how it features information about Maranello, the current lineup, and Scuderia Ferrari. Naturally, I'd like to make my collection as complete as possible. So, could anyone tell me when Ferrari began publishing the hardcover version? Based on cursory Ebay searches, it looks like the larger format hardcover editions go back to at least 2000 or the late 1990s. The prices are also pretty reasonable it seems- the most expensive examples I noticed on eBay were about $65 with reasonable shipping charges as well. I picked up the 2011 version for just $20.

It looks like older versions are much smaller based on what I gleaned from my brief searches. Do they follow a similar format, i.e., with information about the current models and SF? I figure at minimum, I'll collect the editions through the Schumacher era to the present, so any information that anyone could provide will be helpful. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

The earlier issues are (much) smaller indeed. Where the 1978 issue is just 4 pages, from 1997 it's like 30 pages softcover. I'll go through mine today and add the exact info. But here's some info you might find useful.

Expanding on the above the hardcover is much more recent - maybe five years - the majority are softcover
