Thanks Robert. Actually the car has over 69,000km on it, never been restored, nothing re-plated, etc. No rust/corrosion anywhere--one of the few perks of living in California. I drive it several times a week and have put on ~4,800km since I acquired her last Jul, so yes, she gets exercised, but never in bad weather. I've been watching your impromptu restoration and really admire the work you have been doing. I've done a nut/bolt resto on a Vette and currently on a '69 Camaro, lots of work but very satisfying when done--yours will be the same. I spent 7 years in the UK so I can appreciate the conditions Phil and Mel deal with, and I suspect you in OZ (at least part of the year). Good to see you guys using your TRs too.
Our weather in Melbourne is probably closer to Northern CA, Highs of 40 in Summer and lows of 6 in Winter. We do get a bit of rain though, but it only washes the dust off the road. Had my car been delivered to Australia when new it would probably look like yours does, but unfortunately Oz only got one Testarossa delivered by factory way back at the end of 1985 so all of our cars come from Singapore or mostly England. So we have to deal with the repurcussions of the English corrosives but once erradicated, I'm sure that mine will stay in good shape pretty much forever. Just need to cast out those pommie gremlins!
It is a 73 2.4 with 10.? compression, GE 60 cams, electronic fuel injection and light. Almost completed a full ground up and I've owned it since 1982. Barry
