Actually, I had lots and lots of interest, and people loved the changes. Frankly -- and without meaning to offend, because a person's taste is certain his/her own -- I hate the original wheels on the car, and the black side skirts and lower front spoiler detract from the car. Everyone who has seen it initially cannot quite pinpoint what makes it look so good and different, and then I point out the paintwork and they love it. But no one peeped a word about originality. Here is a pic, and everyone can judge for themselves. Given that I was offered $50k, which apparently is a bit high in today's market, I think that speaks volumes. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It´s not about "what looks hot, what´s not" -> it´s definitely true, that the people are always looking for full original and pay therefore the most. The trick is, to keep all original parts on stock and re-convert before sale. Simple. I also dislike the original wheels - but i do have them. Same with exhaust, cats, suspension, steering wheel etc.
The car sold was a Euro spec car with km's, which would have some affect on the value of the car. With the buyer premium, the car was $43k. The car also had a black interior with red carpets, which isn't a typical crowd favorite color combo. I agree it was a good deal as it was still a one owner car with a supposed recent service.
Well, next time you can simply go to ebay.com and search for 512m and check "completed listing". But im feeling nice so i did it for u this time. I see that it did not meet reserve. Looking further down the listing there is a web address: http://www.universalautosports.com/inventory/100675.html Clicking on that link i see that they are asking 159k. M
I think most people, (and mechanics) would say no. On the other hand, in a different thread, there are pictures of Differential carrier that was looked at (by Newman IIRC) during a 30k service that had cracked most of the way around but had not "let go" yet. The Diff was giving NO indications that anything was wrong. The car ran and drove just fine, unfortunately the the "pin was pulled on the grenade".
Nicely bought. My recent purchase ticks all he same boxes as yours, apart from mines a 92 so i dont have the updates, approx same price too. Btw i see theres a black 94 on fleabay right now....sounds like a nice one...not yours is it? M
It is unfortunately I just signed up for a tour of duty in the city which makes owning the car there less than ideal. Sort of thing where if I can get my $'s out I'll probably part with if, if not hold on. Kills me as it took forever to find it, and you can see from my post just two weeks ago, i had no intention of ever letting go of it. Sort of thing where you tell your wife, i am willing to mow the lawn if it doesn't rain, and you pray for rain.
