That's exactly what they are planning. Let's hope they will have more luck than Aston Martin's LMP debut last year... oh well, you cannot be worse than Aston Martin last year, right?
ALMS race fun to watch right now at Long Beach...anyone else watching? Petron Ferrari 458 looking good. MB
Audi R18 to use digital mirrors at Le Mans. I guess it was only a matter of time. http://www.planetlemans.com/2012/05/24/audi-r18-look-into-the-future-with-a-digital-rear-view-mirror/ This technology will probably be par for the course in all race cars before long.
Le Mans test day results http://www.lemans.org/wpphpFichiers/1/1/ressources/Pdf/2012/journee-test/classification/test-day-24-heures-du-mans-test-combined.pdf 3:25.929 Audi e-tron 3:27.204 Toyota Hybrid 3:47.980 Delta Wing Audi is no surprise, Toyota is quicker than expected at only +1.277 & the Delta Wing at +6.5 seconds off of the fasted P2 time didn't barrel-roll. I leave for Le Mans tomorrow morning - should be a good time.
Hopefully we won't have the massive Prototype / GT car crashes like last year. It looks like this year the win is for Audi to lose. Surprised to Level 5 is still participating.

wow awesome post! thanks a bunch...what time does the flag drop Eastern standard time? anyone know...i dont know how many hours of france is to us here on the east coast.
Thanks for posting. Now I can plan my weekend. Was there once, back in 1982 while I was with Porsche. 956's came in 1-2-3. It was one of the best experiences I ever had. We were up for 2 days. All expenses trip paid for by Porsche AG for the top 50 Porsche sales people in the US.
Official green flag drop at 9 am Eastern time. My only issue is that I'll be in a hotel on Saturday morning and I'm crossing my fingers that it will have the Speed channel. here's another good website with live tweets and timing combined http://thomasbaekdal.com/mini-sites/lemans2012/
I am looking forward to it...have never been to the race but have been to the circuit. Made my wife go there with me on our last trip to France. One of the highlights of the trip for me. Like Indy, you can feel the ghosts of drivers and racers past there....good stuff. MB
Now that is something I can relate to and it is impossible to explain that feeling isn't it and you must have a very understanding wife. For myself back in the day when Rob Walker still had his monthly contribution aswell as others there was/is a special, dare I say kindred connection, for such tracks. Thanks!
Four letters......A......U......D.....I........enough said!!! Lets hope for the best race again this year!!!!
I ran across Dr.Drew's show yesterday and he was counseling A.U.D.I patients and it was just an enabling crutch for relapse so I watched "King of The Hill" instead "I tell ya what".
Wish I was going back again this year...what a great experience! We were treated to a fantastic race, too. I will definitely go back. Here are some of the photos I took last year.
