    I have a85 308 that is in need of some paint work. I live in Ellicott City, MD. Any recommondations of a service provider?

    I would repost this question into the Regional Section and see if someone can point you to a local shop they are using.

    Ask around at car events such as cars and coffee.

    Try to find someone who is good for a reasonable price.

    If you just go to the best known shop in the area, you will pay a lot - likely more than $10k. If you find some low key guy who is into it, you could get the same quality for 1/2 the price.

    All the work is in the preparation. dismantling, removing trim, and stripping the old paint. Any good apprentice can do this. Then there is prepping the body. This is time consuming and therefore expensive. These steps are what will make the difference between a good and a great final product. Most any pro can spray the paint to a good level.
