With the recent passing of Shelby I must admit I will get alittle misty eyed when I see the Ford GT's on track and that he is not here to enjoy and reminisce with us.

Their free, full documentary of 2011s race is available on YouTube and is a great video for warming up to/watching under eventual pauses:

I would also like to see a new and unexpected winner but then again one cannot dismiss a great team effort.

I like Audi, but it would be nice to see someone really push them to the end if not win this year. I'm pulling for Toyota.

Edit, does anyone know a good iPad app to follow timing. Le Mans' app is sized for the iPod and doesn't look right.

They've started chatting on YouTube's Drive channel:

    http://www.youtube.com/drive

Only 360p resolution, but I suspect this stream will be more stable than most other live streams.

I would rather see Audi repeat than watch that joke called 'Indy Car" racing. Top notch engineering from a top flight firm with the best of drivers. It's 24 hours of "heaven"!! :D

Forget about YouTube/Drive. They're just chatting with no real substance and no live streaming...

Radio LeMans is as always the best commentary: http://radiolemans.0157.org/nplayer.php

The Corvette in-car stream is pretty cool. I wonder if I'll get tired of that Katech roar after 24 hours?

Are there any Ferrari teams doing such a live stream?

Here's a link to a live feed from one of the Audis, with radiolemans.com updates mixed into the audio:

    http://tv.audi.de/#/01

They vary which camera's feed they show.

I love the telemetry and how the track schematic locates the other Audis.

Does anyone know how much faster the laps run during Happy Hour?

I'm in #2 with Kristensen, and "we"'re about to pit!

Hybrid technology is leading the field .

Does anyone know the technical difference between the Audi and Toyota Hybrids?

I think the Audi uses the front brakes as regenerative which powers a flywheel . How does the flywheel connect with the drive?

The Toyota uses the rear brakes as regenerative which charge a capacitor to power electrical drive motors. Are these motors driving front or rear wheels?

the audi are running two different cars, the ultra and the e-tron, the later being a hybrid

the audi have front wheel driven by electric motors (so 4wd part time) and the toyota have it run through the existing drivetrain to the rear wheels only
