Yes, it could have easily been 3-0 or more for Italy. Lots of chances.

I am kinda worried for my team (Portugal) against Spain. But we could beat them as we have in the past. If Spain tries all those mini pass and plays against Portugal then Spain is in for a surprise. :)

Anyway, may the best team win. I love these competitions!

    And the soccer babes :D

England defended very well. They had a wall of men defending their goal keeper. How else did you want Italy to get in short of doing flying accrobatics??? This was one of the best games this tournament so far. Yes. It's too bad the game was decided in PK, although Italy did manage to score during OT which was later called "offside "( very close call in my opinion ). If that was boring....

Agreed.....it was almost impossible to penetrate the wall of English players infront of Hart. Too bad the goal was called offside.

So far the Azzurri have proven to be quite entertaining........!

lifes lesson usually lino, if you beat your head against a wall 10 times, you cant expect a different result on the 20th time.

the ball needed to go along the line by the 15th attack up , considering the last 14 times going straight ahead did NOT work. Nobody was expecting them to fly accrobatics lino, thats just silly....its about as silly as them going down the middle 33 times into the wall :D

Thanks go to Pirlo for keeping Italy straight and organized...He always tried to start up a different attack, but all the other forwards would try and take the ball up to the box and be denied. (And Buffon saving their a$$es twice in the first 20 min.!!)

The problem with Italy is their forwards and strikers do not mesh well with eachother, they do not have any set plays/passing to score like that of Germany and Spain do well with.

De Rossi was spooked by the english and Balotelli, well he was basically playing against his colleagues(Manchester United). I wish they had brought Diamante and Nocerino in sooner, they looked like they had their act together rather well.... Italy has never been an all balls out team. They try to be efficient which is Pirlo's( L'architetto) expertise... With their new style of open play, they need their strikers to be a little more alert in finishing their play... I love this sport !! It's like a big game of chess ! The next two games are going to be very interesting. I'm not calling it because I'm very biased.... Even if Italy doesn't....don't have the nerve to say it...
Anyway, this tournament showcased some of the best soccer ever played in my opinion. I'm playing hookie on Thursday, I'll be heading to Little Italy to immerse myself in the atmosphere ( one of the perks of being your own boss....Shhh, don't tell me wife;) ). If anyone cares to join me, I'll be at La Picola Casa...

    Forza Azzuri !

    +100 !

I'm in a big jam...my wife is 8.5 months pregnant and not interested in leaving the house , I've already used up my "free soccer passes" on yesterdays game (friends house) and last weeks game ("business lunch meeting") so I am currently looking for another decent excuse for Thursdays game...:D

(And another bonus excuse might be necessary for Sundays final also)

Any advice would be appreciated !!!
