UG and Heffner both make very good twin turbo kits for the lp560. I think this will fix your problem. BTW You have two beautiful cars!
The 458 is almost certainly better than the F430 in nearly every way so I don't see what you've lost. The F430 just doesn't seem very fast to me. I was surprised at this. I didn't buy it for max speed etc. but was expecting it to be faster than my base '05 Carrera which it isn't. The Carerra, which I kept, is definately faster in the legal speed range.
That's very strange. The Lp560 packs quite a punch even though it's AWD, please send it to the workshop & run a scan. I've taken it to the track a few times & it's pretty awesome even for the Lp550. One of my mate did better laptimes in his lightweight Lp550 vs 458.
Maybe it has to with the gearing... Probably the Gallardo has lower gearing (can reach higher speeds) with 2nd and 3rd gear than the 430... This could explain the feeling that the Gallardo feels sluggish compared to the 430... In any case, I think it makes more sense to have a horse (458) and a bull (Gallardo) than two horses... Just more variety... Maybe you should upgrade the bull to it biggest & newest brother : the Aventador !!! I doubt that would feel sluggish in any gear... LOL
I am really surprised by your observations. I have both a LP560 and a 430 spider and the LP has far more low down torque. The LP is so much quicker than the 430. I only have to drop down a gear to overtake whereas in the 430 if it is not above 5K it just does not go. The LP has serious grunt something the 430 does not have. The figures on paper support this with both in gear performance and standing starts. As others have suggested if yours lacks torque there is something seriously wrong with it that needs looking at. It is this difference in character, the mid range punch of the LP versus the high rpm screaming of the 430, makes them such a perfect pair to own. I would also add that I always drive both in manual mode on paddles and never ever use the awful auto function on either as that really screws up the driving experience of both.
I have an '06 Gallardo Spider... which is not as fast as your 550 and I love it. Until yesterday I had an '07 F430 which I'm selling b/c I just got my 16M and I found both the F430 and the Gallardo to be amazing cars. They have very different handling and performance characteristics, but when you get a few miles on the Gallardo, I'm confident you'll love the car as I do mine. Take your time and drive the G around a bit...
My brother has a 2006 Carrera S with the optional X51 package and my ex F430 six speed manual leaves it in the dust in any speed range. There's something terribly wrong with your F430 or...
doesn't compute. A 483hp car slower than a 325hp car or similar weight? check the ferrari. (got beat by tescajones )
Someone is smoking some good stuff here... the 430 doesn't seam fast? Beaten by a base Porsche... something is wrong with your ferrari my friend!!!
did you press the sport button of the lp560? there is no way the lp lacks in low end torque, it is far more advanced than the 430! there must be something wrong with the car....
