Thanks for the tip, I read that about 1000 times online while searching for an answer. :D:D

BUT!!!!!!!!!!! I could not find it to do it.

My BIOS is version A03, maybe it's not there?? I looked and looked and looked and could not see it to turn it off.

The only thing I didn't try was the USB thingy, so I thought i'd give it a go. It worked, so ****s me man. :p

If you can do a screen dump showing me where drive A: is I will love you forever.

Ah, gotcha. I forget factory boards have locked down BIOS, not as many options as aftermarket. Usually it is in the "Main" tab I think. The 1st you when entering BIOS where it lists hard drives, cd rom, and other storage attached.

Sometimes you can navigate the Advanced & find reference to the Disk/USB. Been a long time since I've looked at a BIOS. I just re install a somewhat up to date image of the HDD for any issue I come across.

Yeah man, that could be the case here. Locked BIOS, there was a lot that I couldn't open/access or change.

The USB issue was a long shot, but it worked. I don't know if this common, but it doesn't seem to be the case from what I read online. Everyone kept mentioning the A: drive.

    Thanks again.

Awesome! Glad it worked out for you/her.

Dunno what "Geek level" she's at, but I suspect she barely notices anything of significance being different to Windows (?)

It really is a very simple job and *well* worth it IMO. Even if you do get stuck a quick Google will almost certainly turn up answers - The documentation & forums are terrific resources these days.

    Cheers,
    Ian
