I understand the gearbox is filled to overflowing.. That's why it is not an exact amount.. approximately 4 to 4.5 Qts .. BUT, there is also the transfer gear area.. ? Is that an exact amount? 1/3 Qt .. 1/2 Qt .. ?? 308 GT4 Thanks, Jim
0.17 pints minimum into the transfer case fill hole. Any extra will (harmlessly) overflow into the main reservoir area -- so fill the transfer case first and then the main reservoir, or put it all into the transfer case (and then wait for the excess to run out the main fill plug hope).
Me too - but be aware it does take a while for it to come through & level out - so put 4.5 qts in and leave it for 15-20 minutes & make sure the car is level when you fill it.
It's so much easier to fill at the transfer case fill plug.. SO, I can add 4.5 qts there.. and wait how long for the gear oil to equilibrate.. and flow out the gearbox fill plug? THANKS, Jim.
