Hi my name is Anthony Gonzalez. I posted a message to another section of this site already, I did'nt know what a Lurker was, I thought it was some weird fishing term, but I guess that would be a lunker right? Anyhow I'm not as young as some of these guys here but I remember going to my first f1 race in long beach,CA many years ago so I think I'm still on the same page in enjoying the thrill of a hearing a screaming Ferrari pushing it into the red less than 20ft away.

Hello- this is Joseph from Michigan. Lurker and enthusiast of beautiful Italian cars and
really anything fast and loud. I've been considering a variety of cars but unfortunately always have trouble pulling the trigger on one...trying to be responsible....not politically correct in my part of the country to be seen ripping around in anything expensive...makes no difference to me. Anyway, glad to be here!

Hello- I am new to FerrariChat, lurking for a few months. Though I was always intrigued by the Ferrari brand as a kid, I never thought it would be possible to own one someday. While I was out test driving an Aston a few months ago, I saw a Ferrari dealership and decided to stop in. They offered me a test drive to my surprise and immediately knew there could be no other car for me!! Hook, line and sinker...what an awesome driving experience.. so here I am waiting for my turn to have my own. I am a cancer surgeon and work too hard not to enjoy a few things in life. I always thought Ferrari owners would be snobbish and elitists but the forum members here seem (and read) like ordinary, everyday people and I appreciate that.

Which model are your looking to purchase? As a cancer surgeon you deserve a ferrari LOL. Working hard like that should pay off and what better way than a ferrari right? Best of luck with whatever you go with and POST PICS the day you get it.

Nah, the nice folks are just "seat-fillers" that Rob gets to post every now and again. The real owners are all jerks.

Welcome to Fchat, I'm one of those young guys you mentioned, we need more old farts like you! ;):)

I would have loved to watch a F1 race back when they were 'raw'. I got to hear a Gerhard Berger race winning car against Senna a few years back, quite an experience. I had to video the entire history of it and the startup.

Here's the video I took of that day:

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHOaIfkG0_w&feature=plcp[/ame]

Welcome to you, too! Not an owner, I'm like you though not a cancer surgeon. Thanks for your work there though! :)

Good luck with the future purchase, you have earned it! :)

Been lurking figure now is a good time as any to say hi.

My name is Mark I grew up with a few older cousins at the time that owned some Ferraris and fell in love the minute they would open her up. The engine sounds make me cry they are so beautiful. My direct family however pretty broke so now cars like these are just a means of motivation as i begin my journey on the path of becoming a successful entrepreneur. Seems like a lot of success on this board, and it cant hurt to be surrounded by that.

Also one quick question...the business and investment section, how do i get in? Is it part of the silver membership?

    Thanks!

I thought I would finally say hello. I'm Ahmed and live in Chicago. I'm a huge car guy and own a Nissan 300ZX TT. I'm obsessed with everything automotive. About 8 years ago when I was graduating from undergrad, I told myself I'd buy a Ferrari before I'm 40. Well, I've got 10 years to go and I'm on my way there; but I'm hoping to do it within the next 5-6 years. There's only 1 Ferrari I want - a red F430 with cream leather interior.

Hello I am going to soon be a proud owner of a 97 f355 spider. One thing that disturbs me however. I have read several post on here about what a wonder machine the f355 is yet with all the maint. and money needed to keep these cars running. It doesn't sound like they are all that! Can someone please straighten me out on this...please!

I like everything about that video AFTER that guy stopped talking, no offense intended and thank you for sharing that with us. I watched and recorded that race live and must admit I got alittle misty witnessing a 1-2 finish for the team as that season was a tad rough for them.

    Once again thank you. :)

My name is Aaron, I'm 17 and live in Oregon. Much like some of the others I've been lurking here for a couple of months and this forum has validated the fact that I would love to live the lifestyle of some members on here. All of the pictures of the cars, and houses have amazed me, and even though many people (including my dad) don't think I'm ever going to be able to afford a Ferrari and say they aren't practical even if I could, it is ultimately my goal to someday own one and prove them all wrong :) Thanks for all the great content on this forum!

Hi Everyone! I AM Justin I live near Ottawa Ontario. I have loved ferrari and their cars for as long as i can remember. I hope in the future to be among the proud owners but untill then I will have to settle for being around them and driving them. Why do I say this you probobly are asking? because I am fortunate enough to have an amazing position here at my job. Currently my job includes upkeep and repairs to their private estate including yard works pool care building repairs heavy equipment use and repair. My employer has always had interest in fast cars so about two years ago I would like to think I influenced his first ferrari purchase. After this ideas of a collection of every 10 years of ferrari were thrown around and the collection grew. So now I get to be around Ferraris every day. I am in charge of their care (detailing, regular inspections, and some light service work ) Most recent work I did was during summer. I did axle boot replacement on the '79 308, Battery replacement on the '89 Tesstarossa , and the most recent addition needed no work our '99 355 F1 spider. Also this summer the major was performed on the TR by some amazing guys north of toronto .

I am hooked on these cars and cant get enough of them!

    Justin

Ok time to say hello. I've been registered here forever, but just subscribed.

Ferrari fanatic since I was 10 yrs old. Cars of the late 70s and 80's resonate most with me.

Still dreaming of and scheming for my first berlinetta. 348tb, 328GTB, 512TR, 365BB, 288GTO, in order of most realistic to least!

Thanks everyone for all the knowledge and great reading over the years!

Well I've always liked cars... I had a 5.0 Mustang and now drive and IS350, but I guess I've always compared myself to my brother and father who are into the more American auto sports - Drag Racing and Nascar - which were never really my thing. I recently got an 1986 Honda VFR700 motorcycle and having never worked on any motorcycle, and honestly, never really felt comfortable messing with my Mustang, this interest just sort of was just dormant. That is until I got the motorcycle to work. Realizing that I had this passion deep down and my studying engineering, I have a different appreciation for cars than those in my family.

So as I try to gain more understanding about the mechanical side of things, I've started to go back in time and recall the childhood posters of the F40 and the white Lamborghini Countach and ask myself, "What exactly made them so fast?" So here I am now at the Ferrari forums trying to mingle with some of you Ferrari owners.

One other thing: I'm from San Jose CA, and I've noticed that someone in the neighborhood has what I think is an F430, in red. I can hear it coming from a half mile away and it sounds amazing. That was kind of the thing that pulled me to the website thinking that itd be cool to connect with some Ferrari people.

Other personal stuff... I'm 28 years old, live in San Jose and working on my second bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Have a BA in Psychology but it just wasn't my thing.

    And that's my story...

I've been lurking here for a short while and thought I would post an introduction. My name is Sean and I do not own a ferrari as of yet. I'm a very big automotive enthusiast as well as a formula 1 fan. I'm a heavy equipment technician by trade, and have spent about the last 10 years tinkering with mazda rotary cars and engines as a hobby.

Over the past year or so I have spent a fair amount of time in my travels sampling high end cars (such as rentals or track experiences). Mercedes Benz has always been a staple for me, and I often find myself choosing mclaren mercedes as my winning f1 team. I've decided instead of buying a replacement truck for myself as I do every few years, I would look into purchasing a high end luxury vehicle. MB builds fine cars, but nothing has really excited me like a Ferrari has. When I was younger, a 360 was 'the ferrari' of the time when I was coming into the car world- of course in the shadow of the enzo. The 360 is the car I have set my sights on. This site has really helped me out in learning more about the cars. I'm one to service all of my own vehicles, and knowing proper procedures is half the battle. Yes I understand service records on a ferrari are important, but when I purchase a 'fun time' vehicle, I never intend to sell it. I do all my own work to ensure its done properly, and with the correct tools and parts. The savings in labour also make it more worth the while as I'm not crazy rich by any means.

I'll continue to lurk, read, learn and who knows maybe I will start with a older 328 (love the look) or a mechanical restoration project. I'm looking at around the fall to seriously start looking to buy if I am to use the one time payment method. I'm in no rush to find my 3 pedal 360 modena. I look forward to making friends here and meeting good F-Car folks.

    Cheers

    Sean
