Thanks Napolis - Chris himself checked this pic. He thought it may have been an Oulton Park photoshoot in 1975, but really wasn't sure. Background just doesn't look like Oulton park
However. I think 0848 was #22 at the april 67 test, It had a white stripe and 2 red lights on the roof

As said Napolis, your pic shows April tests days in april 1967.

0848 was number 22 at Le Mans race in june, not in april.

You guys listen up, we must - must write down the date, circuit, chassis number as those guys on FChat will want to know all of this stuff in forty years from now!

Sorry but that is not Le Mans at any date, absolutely not. Please look at the background: that is sheer rock, like a cliff face. The le Mans circuit which I have walked and driven around many times never ever had anything resembling that at any time, be it 50cms high or 5 meters high.

It could be at Vallelunga which has rockface like that, it could be on the Targa Florio course or perhaps the old Mugello road course. It could also be a on a road closed for the occasion for a shake down test just before the April le Mans test but wherever it is it is not LM.

    best regards,

    MS

I agree,it could even be the edge of a cornfield.

That sheer rock cliff face sure looks like grass on this screen. Summertime, dry season, French countryside... Might be Le Mans IMHO but I'll leave it others.

Hello: You are right the chips match and no one is saying that the car was not at the Le Mans April test day(s) in that guise but I really don't think the thread opening photo itself is at LM.

Ted: if you really look closely it is rock not a cornfield. The only place at le Mans where so much steering lock is fed in a right hand turn are Arnage and the two end of the Mulsanne straight, les Hunaudieres, which back then began and ended with a tight right hander both of which disappeared as the circuit got modified later on. None of these places were bordered by a field of any kind.

Eagerly awaiting the correct location answer:) I can ask Forghieri but like most of Italy he is likely at the beach.

    best regards,

    MS

    True thanks for posting!

This video of LM 66 shows the corner from another angle:

    http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5ho0f_24h-du-mans-1966-ford-gt40-mk-ii-on_auto

Here is a still from it at 1min 30: so it is not rock but those dirt banks and the tarmac has the yellow non continuous center line in the shot you just posted matching that in the opening photo.

    Solved it appears...

    best regards,

    Marc

The shape of the cowl where the hydraulic master cylinders are covered would indicate an early chassis? P4 had a smoother cowl?

I think that the girls are staff from the medical building on the left.
Very serious people waiting to patch up people as required!
