    OK, at age 56 I assert I'm too YOUNG for this to be a mid-life crisis. I prefer to recognize it as many others do; the fulfillment of a childhood dream.

    My wife and I picked up our 2013 Italia last Wednesday. I must say I've never been "moved" by a car as I am by this one. Even my wife got emotional when she was describing the car to her mom on the phone.

    Our specs:
    Rosso Mugello exterior
    20 inch forged sport rims
    Yellow calipers
    Ferrari shields

    Leather & alcantara interior in Cuoio
    Racing seats with alcantara inserts
    Bordeaux contrast stitching
    Carbon fiber driver zone with LEDs
    Yellow tachometer

    Thermo insulating windscreen
    Internal Electrochromatic Rearview Mirrors and Homelink System
    Front and rear parking sensors
    Rear camera

    Cruise control
    Satellite Radio

    We are delighted with how the car turned out. I spent dozens of hours pouring over every post on FChat to help me understand which options would be right for us. My thanks to y'all for making this such a great resource.

    Many others have described far better than I can how wonderful this car is to drive. Any thing I would write would be a bunch of superlatives interspersed with expletives.

    I need to give a shout out to the folks at Ferrari of Austin for making this such a wonderful experience. While they can't completely remedy the agonizing wait, they did their best with their enthusiasm and ongoing helpful answers to my questions.

    Again, thanks to the members of FChat for your part in helping make this a great experience.

    Love those seats! I ordered them exactly the same for my spider but in leather.

    Beautiful red color too!

    It's great your wife has shared in your positive emotion, enjoy your drives and do PLENTY of miles after getting the lifelong dream!

    I was wondering do the stitched cavalinos and central stripe in contrasting stitching both come standard with racing seats (when selecting contrasting stitching)? Or do they cost additional?

    I am 51, ordered my F458 in March and it is due to arrive in Sept.

    Maybe we can cross paths in Austin! I just finished building a new home in Steiner Ranch w/6 car garage :)

    she is elegant, sexy and simply beautiful. I love those race seats..you're my hero.

    All you need to do now is take your wife on the factory tour and really savour the Ferrari passion in Maranello and Modena.

    Beautiful...don't see too many Mugello 458's...looks fantastic on any F-car, particularly with Cuoio. Don't save it for anyone else!

    Also looks like there are sport exhaust tips (black) which are an enhancement I think.

    Thanks to all for your kind comments and words of encouragement.

    458dreamer: The stitched cavalinos are standard on the Sport seats however the center stripe is "extracampionario" (about US$1,200 extra)

    rickwjenn: It would be great to meet up in the Austin area. We live on north Lake Travis so you might see us on hwy 1431 regularly.

    jacinto jardine: I think my wife would love to go on a factory tour (she is a big Ferrari F1 fan) especially if it included a tour of Tuscany afterwards. She was actually in northern Italy with her mother on a church pilgrimage at the exact time our 458 was Status 70. Even though they were a couple hundred miles from Maranello, I told her to be on the look-out in case the test driver decided to wander off a bit :)


    Noblesse Oblige: You are correct; those are the Sport Exhaust option. Other than being black instead of chrome, I don't know of any other difference. The black worked for us.
