I'm ordering my 458 spider and this time I want to go with the Racing seats. I'm an avg size guy and I wanted to order the racing seats in Medium size. My dealer told me that no one has ever ordered the medium seats. Question has anyone ever ordered the racing seats in any size other than Large. I'm torn because why woulnd't I order what works best for me after all I'm dropping a boat load of cash. I can't see this effecting the resale either.

Order the large. It will fit you well, regardless. If ever you decide to sell this car (and you most likely will), you will be very glad you ordered it in large as very few will want to buy a car with smaller than large CF racing seats.

in case you are in any doubt from the feedback here, get the large. the racing seats are awesome. I have driven from Paris to Vaucluse (9 hours) and could have driven back again

I like you thought I would order medium, but when I tried to find a medium seat to try it out, no luck. I went to New York Ferrari Atelier and even they did not have medium. My dealer has not ordered a single medium racing seat, ever. So no luck there either.

Everyone and I mean everyone said get the large, the medium is too small for the average American and when it comes time to sell it, you will need to find someone smaller than average that doesn't mind not being able to resell it to half the market when he gets ready to sell it.

Anyway, I am 5'7" 165 lbs and the large work fine. Would medium be better, well I guess I will never know:).

    I ordered medium and its a nice fit. I'm 5"10 180lbs
Large is just too big for a racing seat unless your a blob !

My dealer also said they only order Large and tried to convince me, when my car arrived he said its a much better fit.

I also ordered medium. I prefer to be snug in the seat.

I realize that this may be prohibitive for the next guy. I ordered the car for me

When the car arrives in a month or so, I will post a review. .

I got large racing seats because I tried all sizes at the Atelier and I preferred large. Interesting to know that my choice makes me a blob - gotta love open minded people!!

Speaking as a "blob" 5' 11" and weigh 175 (workout enough to challenge you to an arm wrestling contest (lol) ) I chose large seats after sitting in them. I would caution anyone from ordering a medium seat unless they have sat in them first. As someone who races wheel to wheel in other cars, the large seats work fine and even for those who just want a comfortable ride, they make sense. If you are broad shouldered or big boned, there is no way a medium seat will work well. Best

Sounds like a good match to me :) My monies on......

I'm 5'7" 160lbs...and hardly a "blob"...unless I go on my "otter pop" binges! lol And large fits me well. Enough room to not feel too confined and these racing seats are extremely comfortable.

I am very comfortable in the large racing seat. They are much more comfortable than the standard seats in the California.

know this.... the only reason the dealer "only" orders large is so they can resell the car. they have no concern whether the seat fits you or not. I ordered med. and my dealer was dead set against it and told me it would be hard to resell.I replied since the car is for me i will order a seat for me! Im 5' 8'' around 150lbs and the med. seat is perfect! Buy what suits you,not the next guy!!

I am 5'7" and 130 lbs and I ordered medium. I wanted to try small but my sales said no one ever ordered small in HK so I cannot even try before I buy.

I think everyone has their own reason for choosing a particular seat size - each to their own. I object to some ..... saying people that order large size racing seats are blobs. Just plain insulting.

This thread is interesting to me since. As I said, I am 5' 11" and weigh 175. I had a chance to sit in all seats when visiting the New York Store, and although the only size racing seat they had was large, I liked it immediately,The issue may be the size of our "frames". As someone with wide shoulders and rib cage, the bolsters hold me firmly and I do not feel cramped. Maybe ignorance is bliss, but the large seat allows me comfort and sufficient support when hard driving, so is perfect for me. Maybe smaller boned people would be "thrown around" or some of us like to be "locked in" to the seat. After wheel to wheel racing for years and "choosing" the type of seat that works best for me when racing, I have had the chance to experiment and the choice was easy in this case. Best
