Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful, summer we're having. I understand plenty of people would ask this, so I don't want to start anything, but I figured it's definitely worth a shot. I've been dying to get a ride in the 458 Spider since it came out and I simply wondered if there were any 458 Spider owners in the area that wouldn't mind giving the hugest, tifosi in the USA (haha), a ride, gas on me, of course. Obviously, if there were any rallies coming up, I would die to join someone, but all I'm asking for is a short ride, or a long one would be fine too! Please PM me, if anyone wouldn't mind taking me up on this. Thank you very, very much for your time!! Just the possibility gives me butterflies! Forza Ferrari! Ciao!

Nobody? I completely understand, but I guess there just isn't too many 458 Spider Owners' in the area. Either that or I'm just crazy for asking...I can dream, I guess! Thanks for everyone's time at least!

Nobody is going to jump on this publicly, or you'd see 100 such posts the day after. And probably not privately either, since that'd be the equivalent of giving a hitch-hiker a ride, and you just never know who that person might be. And if the owner has kidnapping insurance, giving a stranger a ride is the equivalent of leaving the keys in the car; probably wouldn't be covered if something happens. Too much risk. Don't take it personal man. Just wanted to explain this to you so you don't have the impression Ferrari owners are pricks :). And yes, I also wish I could take a ride in one to sample the racing seats, but wouldn't even bother to post what you did because I understand nobody wants to take that risk with a stranger. Your best bet is to either rent one for a day, or attend a 'world class driving' event when it becomes available to them. Good luck man.

I completely agree with the both of you, I truly didn't expect any "takers", so no worries here. I appreciate your time though, I absolutely understand why there weren't any responses and that's more than understandable. As I said, I at least wanted to give it a shot...

The OP is asking for a tall order. There are several 458 Spiders around the NYC area. However, anyone who has one is very important and likely not going to take on this risk. Owners of these cars this early in their life cycle are likely to be very busy too. Maybe the OP's best bet is to join an active local club and maybe once an owner gets to know him a ride may be offered. I get emails from all the local NYC area dealers for cool private events that are not publicized. If you can get yourself on those lists maybe something will come of it.

while not a spider, would be more than happy to take you for a ride, even let you drive. get the whole experience.Have the race seats although med. in size. pm me if you are interested. Kidnapping...insurance not covering it? really? its a car, no wonder people think ferrari owners are pricks.

Before I PM you, I just had to thank you publicly, because even though I had NO expectations when I wrote this short, desperate post, it's gentleman like you that truly DESERVE a Ferrari. While many are quick to "write off" so called, Ferrari owners as less than generous, I've met many, many Ferrari owners who are EXACTLY the opposite. You, without a doubt, are one of the latter and I can't thank you enough for your offer. Don't worry, you won't have to bring your gun, hahaha. Talk to you shortly. Grazie mille! Ciao.

Why must it be a spyder ? I understand your passion so any opportunity is a great one. I had never rode or driven a Ferrari until my first was delivered from Minnesota and drove it home from delivery point

    Juan,

Hope you're having a great summer! You're EXACTLY right about your post and I thought of that after I posted this thread, but I haven't had the opportunity to ride in a Ferrari spider (other than the 348), so the 458 was absolutely the best example. To be honest, I had always wanted to jump in with you, but didn't want to be a pain! Seriously, let me know when you're going out for a drive again, I would love to join you, if you didn't mind. As you said, any "Ferrari opportunity" is DEFINITELY a great one and there's NO denying that, especially when you're as big a tifosi as I am!

Yeah, Rich is a GREAT GUY, there's no question about that! He's blessed me in the past as well, in fact; I don't think there's many in the Northeast that he hasn't truly, blessed with a ride/drive, hahaha. Really nice video too! I would love a ride in his GTO, it's AMAZING!!
