Not mine...it's my dad's boat, but unique enough that I thought that I would share. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o44OcKaQga4[/ame]

Beautiful! Back in the days when form followed function. I may of missed it but what fuels the boiler?

Whatever burns. Charcoal briquettes are easiest, but he's having trouble getting them hot enough, fast enough and long enough at 6,750 feet, so he's going to convert to propane. Side benefit will be that it won't produce the black smoke that some fellow boaters have complained about. Funny. Who doesn't like the smell of a BBQ?

What about cedar pellets? You can get them at Home Depot for wood burning stoves. They get pretty hot and smell nice.

Don't go propane, it will lose a little bit of its charm.

Yes, it will lose some charm but it's far safer and easy to regulate. Pops found that it's pretty hard to be both skipper and fireman and keeping the heat on high for all potential demand requires a lot of attention that takes away from enjoying the ride. Also, there's no waiting around for the coals to cool and no messy cleanup back at the dock.

After 10 months of restoration work, she finally swam again two days ago. Mast has been placed yesterday, should be ready to sail late today.

    Baltic 38DP, 1984. Specs: http://www.balticyachts.fi/Webroot/1116233/CustomYachtsDetail2010.aspx?id=1124062&venho=51&cat=Standard%20models

I love the IOR rating lines. They just don't make boats with these curves anymore. I used to dream about these boats when they were new (and I was 14 years old). It is truly exciting to own one now! And it was a true joy to design the colour scheme, devise the name, and design the script. She's quite unique looking and creating quite a stir in the marina already. :)

The name, BTW, is Latin and means "Salty" or "Witty".

I still haven't sailed this boat since I bought her in October 2011. Can't wait! :)
