The Cartier Edition is actually a larger (more pages) publication, with additional photos (and IIRC content) from the "other" editions...

..and of course, the special dust jacket photo layout.

If that's the case I'd say it's quite sad. Apparently none of the parties involved with the book (Hill, Nye, Dawson and who-knows-who else)is willing to come out and say what the current status of the project is.

    Nathan,

    My copy arrived yesterday.
Mightily impressive presentation. At first I was a little disappointed as I thought it was only the box that was numbered and not the actual book. Upon closer inspection the number is embossed in the leather up on the rear cover.
Lovely book, beautifully put together, please accept my congratulations and appreciation and also pass them on to Ron.

Thank you for your kind comments. We are delivering at last. The last 6 months have been very frustrating as we've had to endure delays caused by others, although we've taken the opportunity to improve the book as well.
I'm pleased that you noticed the embossed numbers on the back. We felt that it was better than simply writing or printing the numbers.
Sales are going well, and the very limited '30 anni' edition is nearly sold out, with literally a handful left.
    Thank you
    Nathan

That's a very nice touch. Perhaps others will take it up.

On a similar subject, I abhor the current practice of "signed" books being delivered with a signature plate rather than an inscription on the book itself. I understand the logistics involved, but I still dislike the execution. It cheapens the whole idea of an inscribed book.

Hopefully my copy of the "30 anni edition" will arrive soon. I've received an e-mail from Horton's today to make final arrangements.

Really look forward to this publication!

    Best,

    Hi Nathan,

The Hortons website only shows the "regular" edition on offer. How could one of the '30 anni' editions be obtained? Do I remember correct the price of that one would be something like GBP 700 or 800? Many thanks!

    Ciao,

    Lars

Completely agree. To me, that is not "signing" a book. I would not pay extra for that. Who is doing that, and for what books, if I may ask?

Davd Bull is the one that comes to mind. I have several of their "signed" editions, but I won't buy another unless the book itself has been inscribed. There are probably others as well.

    Hi Lars

I would email or phone Horton's immediately. I think they will sell them without having to put them on the web-site.

All the leather limited edition copies of "The Sales Drive from Maranello" are hand-signed on the title page by Ronald Stern and myself.

I was thinking you were going to say them. It looked like that was what they were doing when I last saw their catalog.

One of the most enjoyable parts of the Monterey weekend is shopping the road of vendors at Laguna Seca, and being able to meet and have such greats as John Fitch, Gurney, etc., sign the books.

    Hi Lars

I think you probably got the last "30 Anni" book. I understand that it is now sold out! The black leather limited edition is also selling well - 200 numbered copies only.

One of the 200 is on it's way to me by UPS! Exited to see the final result.

    Hi Nathan,

Sorry to reply only now but I was on holiday and didn´t open Ferrarichat in the meantime.

I´m very happy to have received confirmation from Horton´s that indeed I´ll receive one of the "30 Anni" editions. Hearing that I got the last one makes it even better of course :)

    Ciao,

    Lars

For brochure collectors: the F12berlinetta brochure is now available at official dealers, at least here in Germany. The order number is 95993373.

    Btw, the brochure is LARGE!

    Ciao,

I just returned from Monterey, yesterday. What a mecca for book collectors. No word on the Phil Hill book. I actually heard a very sad story about David Bull. It seems he was in a very bad motorcycle accident last year, and is paralyzed. If anyone knows him, please let him know my thoughts and prayers go out to him. The only reason I found out is that there was no Bull Publishing booth at the races and I mentioned it to someone, who told me the story.

That's terrible news about David Bull. I wondered why there was no booth at Amelia Island. I hope he will be able to make a full recovery.
