Clearly says $600K plus..the EXACT figure, as requested by the buyer was and is not posted...but with his OK..the quote of $600K plus was approved...and if you recall it was advertised at $624,888.00 so as much as it would be great...I have never found anyone that would pay a price for a car OVER the advertised price...so pretty easy to see it fell between $600,001.00 and $624,887.00 But just for fun, if we take the price of $600,001.00 as the selling price, then add the "Auction House" buyers fee of 10%, this car also would have been right at $660K..of course there was no 2.5% duty due, nor did I include free shipping on the sale..so in all comparission..both cars were priced pretty darn close, with in a few dollars of each others worth. I did not see the Orange car, nor drive it, nor review its service records and documents..but I am sure it was just as nice as mine was to gather a good sale amount of $660K all in..I surely dont think you will see them going down in value... The other current LP400 Periscopa car privately for sale at $575K seems like a good buy at this time with these latest sale figures AND is of just as good a restoration qauilty as the two spoken of here...
What happens, when two serious buyers, want the same car at the same time ? I thought a LP400 was sold a few months ago, for a bargain price ? I am interested in a strong market ! I realize a sale or two, does not always set the values. No doubt, buyers and sellers may hold up different sales figures, to leverage negotiations.
And which car do you mean? Probably a yellow RHD car. Two RHD cars, both yellow, sold at a low price in the last two years. One of them set a record price some years ago (Steve Maman car #1120204, sold for $533.5k including fees), speaking for your theory that one sale does not set values. However, I think that the car sold by Gooding is worth the $660k.
except it isnt. i know its "just for fun" - but you cant start adding hypothetical premiums because it wasnt an auction sale and then say the prices are the same. bottom line is if someone has a budget of $600k (give or take) then they may well have not stretched to $660k sorry Roy, but i just dont see it as a fair comparison
Nothing to be sorry for..I guess the point did not come out correcly..IF my car had sold at $600K at Auction, with fee's it would have been $660K as well..so you can look at it two ways... 1) The 600K plus buyer got a good deal as he saved 60k in fee's 2) The Auction buyer wanted to be in no more then 600K and just figured the 60K premium as part of the transaction and pulled the trigger Either way, the point is the 660K cost more then the 600K plus car, 10% approx..which means if the 660K seller ever goes to sell..at auction..he will need to hammer at around 720K plus to get his 660K back AND is sellers cost at the next auction..
Per the seller's request, info on the car is not being posted publicly..there is enough intrest with currently contacted intrested buyers...if the new owner allows me to post any info after a sale...I will be more then happy to do it at that time..
I found this on the net. The car is supposedly owned by an Arab Sheikh and is or was located at Top Motors. Does anyone have more info on the car (chassis number, year, is it a custom repaint or original colour?) and who is Top Motors? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nick, Spot on mate. Good to have you back around, by the way. The mind boggles with the proliferation of assumptions & circular logic I hope you are sampling those sublime Welsh roads as much as possible. Best,
Do you know the auction buyer of 1120200, and his specific purchase plans, in order to post on a public forum his intentions, action & rationale? Or are you just guessing & assuming again?
You must be a glutton for punishment. Someone ought to tell you, the same-old sour-grapes attitude does nothing for your public persona. Making a jackass of yourself seems to be an art-form you have perfected. Your comments on the $660k sale are redundant by 3 days. You ought to read before you post. But then again, as you yourself have proudly proclaimed on these pages, reading has not been something you have been particularly interested in since high school (your own claim). Your jumping into conversations and answering questions clearly directed for someone else is legendary. It is not particularly good etiquette, and is considered rude by most. Nobody wants to hear about 3-day old news, especially when its been posted already. Its called a Repost. What part of "A deal has been worked @ $660,000" needs to be made perfectly clear so there is nothing left to assume? Are you a spokesperson for David Gooding? Spare us your illiterate & irrational drivel upon these threads. You really don't contribute much of value here, and even that is when you are not boasting & bragging that "I don't have to sell it" or "I'm keeping it". Where have we all heard that BS before. As for bikes, I don't own one. I prefer to get my exercise by running 2 miles each morning. I'll take you on anytime.

Top Motors Di Salvioli L., Via Galvani 20, 41015 Nonantola, MO, tel (+39) 059549224 Top Motors was founded by Orazio Salvioli, longtime Automobili Lamborghini SpA factory foreman. They specialize in Lamborghinis, naturally. I cannot tell you about the car though.
Joe good seeing you and your family at Pebble. About 30 minutes before the car went on the block, the LP 400 was being gone over by three guys. They were revving the car's cold motor to over 5000 RPM for about 10 minutes. Thought they were going to blow the motor. What was that about do you know? Geno
Good seeing you & yours too. Your car looked great @ Quail next to the helicopter! I'm not sure. The new owner is a colleague of my client so I can ask him, but if that motor was stone-cold revving it to 5k is not too clever.

Those WERE my mechanics and restored my car. Shop owner is Luca Salvioli, Orazio's son. Orazio just helps his son by working there. They knows very well those cars, they are very fast and not too much expensive. But my car always had a lot of mechanical problems, never fixed and they did not look to know how to fix them or at least they did not want to spend the necessary time to fix them. So i changed mechanic, i switched to the official Lamborghini Service at Crevalcore, 15 miles from Nonantola and four miles from the factory: we took out the engine another time and then my car improved a lot, goes as fast as a lighthning and almost all problems were fixed. I finally enjoy that Countach. Official Service at Crevalcore is not so quick as Salvioli, it's a bit more expensive too, but the result was by far better. May be this is just what happened to me, but i would not send the car to Salvioli's shop anymore for any reason. Of course this is just my opinion, as Salvioli's shop is always full of Lamborghini coming from everywhere. ciao
Thank you very much. Looking closely at the car it is badged as a quattrovalvole but I cannot see the engine cover bulge under the car cover. What do you think?
It has US bumpers on it... and I would think you could see the bulge a little bit under the car cover (does not look like it should sag that much if there were a hump). So my guess is injected, but it could be a DD.
Hey, he's the one that got sliced on the neck by Adrain Sutil at the night club in Singapore. From what I read, they were 2 drunkin idiots with a bunch of people. Not sure but Gerard try taking someone else's woman. Just goes to show...no matter how much money and power you have, you're still a bunch of frickin idiotic children. EDIT: Sorry, that was his Genii partner Eric Lux......still, the above applies hahaha
