308 QV front chin

I believe that is a shadow from lighting, if the lower has a black margin, it is at the transition of the lip to horizontal, at the bottom of the front valence

 

The "belly" of the "chin" (yes, it sounds like nonsense to me too) is black (heavy, rubberized paint), including the rectangular integrated pan under there. From the edge of the air dam on up it's body color.

The color boundary should be clean, as a double chin on a QV is just bad

 

My 85 308QV has the same configuration with the center portion painted black. I don't know if it originally came that way or if the PO added the black paint.

 

No way is that a shadow. That's painted black, and it is not supposed to be.

My whole car is black so, sorry, can't help ya!

 

None of them came from the factory that way. It had to have been done by a previous owner or the dealer. Most likely it was chipped up and they just repaired it black instead of taking the time to fix it right and do a respray. These cars are 20+ years old and over time, they get modified. My car had the bumper painted red to match the body color but when 328's came out I'm sure they were just trying to keep it looking fresh and new. It was one of the first things I redid when I bought it.. painting it back to black.

 

Mine is black too, but so is the rest of my car.....

Mine, and all others I have seen, are body color.

 

I've looked at a lot of 308 QVs over the past year or two...never seen one done like that.

 

my 83 QV came the same way. I assume, the previous owner hit something and just wanted a cheap fix. I swapped in a new euro spoiler, and got rid of the black one.
