BBS FI wheels instock (no wait)

+1 ... 20's please.

 

I have been trying to order 20 inch and fitment for the 458 for over a year. We have offered to pay upfront for sets. Just comes down to production and BBS race wins over street wheels.

If anyone wants 19 inch I can tell you its been a headache to even get these so if you want them please let me know.

they should fit both just fine...consider all of the interchanging these cars already do (CS wheels on non- CS cars; 430 wheels on 360 cars etc).

 

Any suggestions for Bridgestone RE-11 tire sizes with these wheels for a Scud? Any other thoughts/concerns?

 

Do not run 255s in the front. The BBS FIs do not have enough offset, and they will rub. I am testing 235s this week, and will have data soon. 305/30ZR19s work fine in the back.

 

Bring this back from the dead have another set of FI Titanium wheels instock.

Santa must of wanted someone to get these. These are the lightest wheels you can put on your F430 or Scuderia.

I ordered mine in Oct, according to BBS NA, my wheels are still in Germany awaiting for BBS to fill the container before they head to the States, ETA end of Jan.

 

I want a set for my C.L. scud !!!

Yeah I had them sent by air because the container kept getting pushed back. Sorry Sir but no CL Fi in the future. The new HRE S101 could be an option when they release it in Monoblock.

 

Now looking at MPSS tires with these wheels, have seen recommendations for 255/30 front, 305/30 rear as well as 245/35 front, 295/35 rear. Anyone have have experience or views?

 

I have 245 30 at front and they rub when I lock the steering wheel.

At the back I have 325 25 and they are fine!

 

The MPSS in 325/30 has a very similar OD as the 285/35. Has anyone tried them I the rear, with the 235/35 MPSS up front and BBS FIs?

Would the wider tires in anyway effect the E diff or other handling/traction aids?

Also, the BBS center lock kit looks cool, but is it heavier than the standard 5 Ti lug system?

 

That's my yellow Scud that VividRacing posted earlier. I've since then swapped them out for those FI wheels. Just curious, are you guys selling the newer front wheels with the correct offset? The first set that I got were the wrong offset leaving VERY little clearance between the spokes and the front brake calipers. BBS has since then fixed that issue.

360C, I'm surprised you didn't put on those skid plates on yours. I have those on mine and that has saved my car a bunch of times from scrapes and such. Mine is also slightly lowered too.

I swapped out my Corsas to those RE-11s and LOVE them! They're slightly heavier than the Corsas but its performance in the wet more than makes up for it plus these FI's lighter weight offsets the slight weight gain too.

I would have thought that once there was sufficient offset to clear the calipers (however tightly) that there was indeed correct offset.

 

I had fairly significant clearance issues on the rear with the BBS FI's, the fronts were fine.
I never fitted skid plates in the end because I removed a fair bit of weight from the front of the car and the problem seemed to stop. The weight was removed with a custom carbon fibre front bumper and bonnet.

Love yellow on the Scuderia, probably the best colour for them IMO.

 

Interesting...BBS originally created the front wheels thinking that the standard 430 and the Scuderia have the same caliper sizes. Well, that was clearly not the issue. I couldn't even fit a business card between the calipers and the spokes. That made me uncomfortable so they sent me a set of 1mm spacers to use temporarily while a new set of wheels were fabricated for the front. I was apparently the first one to get these wheels for the Scuderia a couple years ago. I still remember the day when I first put them on, how good it looked!!!! Best wheel for the Scuderia, IMHO!

I'm really surprised that you had clearance issues in the rear. Was it the fenders or the calipers? I'm also surprised that you had to lighten your front end too. That seems like it was more trouble than its worth. The skid plates works perfectly for me and I rarely scrape except on steep driveways.

 

All of the new wheels coming in fit the scuderia without the spacers. That was an issue but to my knowledge it was solved early last year or so.

I do have more sets that are sitting in a container right now. If anyone has any questions let me know.

I second that the this is the best wheel you can put on the Scud. BBS nailed it.

 

Yep,...they did finally resolve the wheel fitment issues.

I will say they have been slow to build new FI wheels we requested them for the 458 and the gallardo/R8 and never got them.

What size tires fit best on these rims for Scuds?

 

I had no issues with the calipers, front or rear. The clearance issue was with the lip of the rear guard under full compression, lowering it slightly made it worse still. Ended up removing spacers to narrow track a tad and trimmed about 1.5cm from the guard lip. I also went with a 305 rear tyre as the 295 was unavailable at the time. Next time around I will be going to 295's.

I didn't lighten the front end to fix the scraping issues, it was part of a larger project to take as much weight out of the car as I could without compromising comfort and usability. The scraping problem was fixed as a bit of an unexpected bonus I guess.
