Graigs List Maui 7/24/12 '85 Fly Yellow Testarossa 30+ K miles listed by owner. FYI
Good day All, Just adding some details... Note the condition of the bolts in the engine compartment... the salty air does its wonders... maybe that is what happened to its roof Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's also an early euro F113A that had at one time been modified to quasi-Lambda operation, but that has been disabled -- note the unplugged FV (the yellow connector) under the 1-6 bank intake plenum. Can't say that the price is too unfair (if no big surprises) -- JMO...
Run for your life!!!!!!! Its a horror show! That thing wreaks of umlimited expensive repairs which if fixed properly will exceed the value of the vehicle in about 4 minutes...Seen it happen, know others its happed to with TestaRossa's that looked far more legit that a seat coverd targa modifed Ferrari Testa Rossa (of all cars & one of my favorites)......there are no cheap Ferrrari's,you will pay one way or the other. That cars a nightmare waiting to happen for the next owner! Run Forest Run!But Im sure it will make someone happy as it rolls off the truck or gets pushed. Not trying to be harsh just realistic so no one gets screwed by a low ball buy in & high ball nightmare "maintanance" issue.Besides, look at the carpet, its extremely rough. Its been beat to death, move along all...I like the camera bag on the roof while taking pictures of the car!!!!! What great respect for one of the true great & beautiful Ferrari's ever......Love the car just not that one.-John
Can't argue with you...it's a 15 grand car, but for a shop to scoop for 15 -20grand, it's worth parting out.
It looks like some supports have been added to the lower rockers. A likely explanation for relocating the hood and bonnet latches.
i hear what you guys are saying, but still "part out" vs. save a ferrari!? for me personally, being able to work on a car myself completely, it'd be project that i could tinker with till it's back to proper order again, maybe someone the same could pick it up for $20-25K and instead of parting, rebuild it! hopefully!
If this needs something half decent, the parts on a testrossa will eat you alive. The Testarossa is not the Ferrari to "tinker" with....the 328 is better for the cash strapped DIY.....as a matter of fact , no Ferrari is good for someone on a budget.
Pay Day Loans should be enough to tell you how well this car has been maintained and cared for.... IMO, way over priced as the targa is a huge, huge negative. Sorry.
I came across this Yellow soft top Testa in Peurto Banús last week. Nice car and in good condition. P Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
obviously, being in driving condition vs. broken down, makes a thorough going over possible & as said, do-able for mechanically able ....hopefully someone doesn't just part the car, sad if so!
Wait, how come the trunk and engine cover handles are side by side in this targa TR? Was it the case in early TRs or it just another layer to the freak show?
I NEVER understood why..."parting out a car", in this case a Testarossa , is a negative/SAD?!....if "1" parted out Testarossa SAVES a multitude of other Testarossas...how is that a "Negative/SAD"??!!....with many Testarossa parts NO LONGER in production...a parted car is a SAVIOUR!!! to those Testarossas in need.....Mark
Now in California and priced at $36.5k. http://www.beverlyhillscarclub.com/1985-ferrari-testarossa--c-1140.htm
It just fits right in with all their other cars! BTW: they are in El Monte- about 1 hour from Beverly Hills.
