More modern. Curvy. http://insidemclaren.com/2012/09/paris-p12-to-be-extreme-example-of-bespoke-hyper-car/
That is not the car, and the displacement no one knows just yet. The illustration, as Jim can comment is not near the extreme of what the P12 will be. The car shown at Paris will be the final production car.
aerodynamics can make up a lot of speed & performance, but as Jim and others have mentioned a high downforce car is not necessarily a good street car ....look at the caparo for example ....bugatti manipulated aero to achieve it's top speed goal, when that 1000hp alone didn't, so even with the same 590hp 3.8 turbo engine and basic chassis of the 12C, then with some advanced aero design, and say 200hp of KERS + lighter weight (if that's possible with KERS added back in?) then reaching the same performance level of the old F1 shouldn't be a problem ....my only question is if it will end up being even close to the essentials "drivers" car the old F1 was (is)? that beings said, i'm only guessing, as i'll likely never drive either in my lifetime!
That is pretty nasty, 22 days from now you will see the real thing, and it looks far better than any of these illustrations. In fact, it will blow your minds.
Looks are subjective, one of the Gentlemen on F-Chat, who IMHO has great taste, might chime in on P12 of his opinion.
Is it just me, or does the front end width look far greater than the back end width? Eh, I'll just wait for Paris....
You can see diagonal LED strips underneath the headlights in the teaser along with the traditional huge windshield. Should be a neat looking car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
indeed ....sadly won't be a central seated driver, to bad, i don't see why that (having started with the F1) be a mclaren signature for it's premier model(s)?!
