I think Isobel has been paying attention. I looked at her post on the Monza thread and that made me take a look at how the season has gone. I would have added the "barring mistakes by McLaren", but they seem to have upped their game. 4 of the last 7 races, including 3 wins in a row.

    Look out...

The very same Tifosi Were there was an element that were monkey chanting while he was on the podium? My son was there with his wife and found it utterly disgusting. Would have been great if Niki Lauda would have voiced his disapproval. But that may have started a riot.
I wonder if that was part reason why Lewis left the podium early.

Oh, it's far from over. The MP4-27 is clearly the fastest car on the grid. Fast and Hungary, fast at Monza, it has all bases covered.

Ferrari is going to keep the pressure on though:

“We will now bring new developments to every race; we must be at the top of our game because there could also be other surprises.” Good news.

Also interesting to note that DiResta just signed with Button's manager, citing a hope for "bigger and better things." Hmmm...

It happened in Spain, Mosley grew a back bone and sorted it to some extent, I think.

Yet LH commments after the race....

    Lewis Hamilton - 1st
"Winning at Monza is one of the greatest experiences of my Formula 1 career. I absolutely love this place: I've been coming to Italy to race since I was 13 years old and I just love the culture, the food and the people.
"Since I started in Formula 1, Monza has been one of the races I always wanted to win at - it's such an incredible, historic circuit and all the great racing drivers have won here. To finally put my name on that list makes me feel extremely proud, but also very humble.

"Our car has been fantastic all weekend, and it was nice to have a relaxed grand prix with no troubles. I was out on my own for most of the race and just tried to manage the gap behind me. I was cruising at the end, but, once I heard that Sergio [Perez] had got past Fernando [Alonso], I had to push a little to keep the cushion over second place.

"The race was very unfortunate for Jenson - we were running first and second at the time and it would have been great for the team if we could have finished like that.

"This championship is proving to be so unpredictable - and I'm so grateful that we've got a good car and that we're in the fight. We've got seven more races on the calendar. We should enjoy today, but this victory is just one step. Tomorrow, we'll start all over again, for Singapore."

My lad was in one of a few small pockets of British fans. I mear drop in the ocean.
Though I think it's known that there is an undercurrent of racism in most sports amoung the fans in Europe. From football to F1 its there. Even in our own country were we often hear the chants in the football grounds.

On Speedcenter he mentioned something about the "boos" being a bit annoying but nothing about monkey chants. Maybe he just thought that's how the rabid Monza tifosi normally communicate? ;)

Yes, football I know, rife with it, it is not right in any shape or form in any sport.

I'd like to think the average F1 fan is above that type of nonsense, but....

I agree and also think they are to mate.
I suppose with Spain almost next door to Italy, with Alonso driving an Italian car. I bet a lot of Spanish traveled to the GP this weekend. Wasn't there a Spanish LH race hate web site with 16,000 members http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-512165/Spains-Grand-Prix-status-risk-outcry-racial-abuse-Lewis-Hamilton.html
If you follow football as I do, you will also know of the Italian number one striker Mario Balotelli, and how an element of the Italian fans treat him most weekends.
Are we really suprised at what happened to LH?

Perfectly fine, but you just seem a little overly defensive of what's posted about LH. Honestly, the best route to take with any racist idiots is not mention them at all. That's what they want (the attention), and LH did the right thing in ignoring them (if he could even hear them - which I doubt).

I have posted absently nothing overly defensive about LH, nothing at all. I know better than that. I have read many posts regarding the driver on FC over this last year. And I know how people are shot down for being defensive of the Mclaren driver. But I would like to think that I have the moral fibre to defend any one who I feel deserves to, no matter who.
I am an F1 fan though yes ;)
