This makes me sad. This took place at the holiest of race tracks is just sad. Schu, Lauda, and Kimi should have gone on stage and ended that.

Idiots appear everywhere. You can't stop them from being ignorant, but ignoring them is simply the best course of action. They should be made to feel as small and insignificant as they really are.

Lewis will stay at McLaren but I suspect there will be changes within the team.

Apparently some think that motivation will cure a chassis that is slow, consumes tires worse than most other teams, and that hasn't been totally unreliable...

    And here it is:

    http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2012/09/hamilton-set-to-move-to-mercedes/

    interesting.

So, one of two things could happen. A swap with Nico, or Michael retires. I believe it's highly likely we will see a swap for Nico + cash to get Ham in the seat. I just can't see Michael leaving with how well he's driving. I'm wondering if the deal was signed over the weekend and whether one of the other is happening is contingent upon Michael's decision. Mercedes would LOVE to have Ham and Schumacher, my gosh what a team then.

I know. I was a moderator of a UK based F1 forum for 5yrs and Lewis could do no wrong and those supporters became quite upset with even the slightest implication (as proven in a previous post by a new UK based member, I walk softley but I carry a BIG KEYBOARD!).

I had a good laugh with the implication of Lewis's "box office power"

I also do not see MS leaving Merc and I think a swap is a good move. Mikey will have a teammate who is very quick and it will give him a chance too show Lewis how a real F1 driver and WDC champion should act.

As I said in the other thread now, I believe Nico is going to Mclaren, Schu is staying, and Lewis will be with MB. Nico WILL not be on the same team with Lewis, nico is having a hard enough time taking on Schu, Nico can take Jensen though. Nico has no chance getting a WDC with Lewis as a teammate though, they are both pit bulls. Michael could give Lewis a massively hard time but this is a gamble he seems to be ok with, and this swap gives us a chance to see how Nico and Michael measure up against Schu

I agree wholeheartedly, another 'Super Team' if I may? The potential Lewis has for bigger and greater things in F1 is something we are all aware of and if this 'swap does take place' hopefully it will bring Lewis back down to earth in that he is expendable, no matter what his ego tells him. His lack of a 2nd WDC is not McLarens fault, it is his burden and his alone.

Poor ol' Jenny - Never gets any respect!..... I also beg to differ. My 02c is Jenson is not only a little quicker than Nico but more of a "racer". Nico seems a nice enough guy but not "hungry" for it. Jenson keeps his head down and delivers without any drama.

See above!..... I don't think he is and neither do I think he'll get a title.

    Oops! ;)

*IF* it's true (and I'm still not convinced) Lulu -v- The Schu will be interesting though..... He's never been consistently beaten by a teammate if memory serves (?)

Interesting times indeed. [Apart from having to deal with Eddie gloating for months!]

    Cheers,

Not so much motivation but more a boost to the competitive juices.
What makes a driver truly great is that he always seems to have that little bit more to call on when needed. I guess that's why they're sometimes called transcendent.

Pardon my error! You know what I meant. Lewis and Schu are both pit bulls, would be an amazing combo.

Jens is a good driver, but he doesn't have that extra tenth or so that pushes him into greatness IMO. Lewis always eeks out that extra couple tenths in qualy and takes more chances than Jens. Nico is more like Lewis than like Jens IMO. I don't think it would be a contest nico vs Jens, not with how much Nico practices and is borderline obsessive over things.

That statement, my friend is a complete and utter load of tosh, I cannot actually believe you actually wrote that.

If Lewis has any brains whatsoever he will stay put, that's all the back down to earth he needs.

Michael was able to achieve the most when he was able to mold Ferrari into his team with some very talented people of his selection devoted to him.
This is one thing that I don't see Lewis capable of nor McLaren open to.

Lewis wants the Global Mercedes brand to further his personal brand, t least that's the story from his management company. On paper, it makes sense I guess. Come 2014, a works team will be the place to be IMO. And Lewis will want to be around 2013 while the 2014 car is being developed. Makes sense

Well since I am entitled to my opinion and I do not seek the approval of anyone here my view it is not so far fetched.

    Mr.Steve,
Your replie's are amusing at most.

Check Pitpass for an article on LH being spoiled? He's done nothing good for his reputation over the last 2 weeks with the team or JB. The relationship between the 2 is at an all time low. LH is almost trying to be forced out is my impression. He must be really unhappy. http://pitpass.com/47281-Hamilton-A-Spoiled-Brat

RD also states the latest LH win in Monza actually helps the Mclaren position vs LH in the negotiations. I see a needless soap opera driven by LH and his need to sell his 'brand'. No loss if he left the team or left F1 for me. He might just need a year off to sort himself out and decide if he is a racer or a Kardashian style wanna be 'celebrity' instead.

I blame his lack of management and its focus on celebrity vs driving for the issue. He's 27 though and is certainly old enough to drive this along as well.

As you stated its not in his character to build a team or cohesion evidently. He is a great driver, yes. So what- at this point. I see him using F1 as a stepping stone to the next 'thing' in his life. Sure good for him but thats all it is.

Mclaren should let him go and move on. No loss overall. No driver leaving ever is. MS left and I didnt lose any interest in F1 at all. In fact I had more because I wanted to see how Ferrari would be without him!

We beg to differ. (FWIW, JB has out qualified him 3 times this year). I agree that he's ultimately very slightly quicker, but Jenson doesn't break cars and just has more of the famous "mechanical sympathy" IMO. Personally, I'd take JB out of the two - Way too much drama with Lulu.

Dunno how Norbert & Ross are gonna handle him if it happens - Strikes me neither will put up with any BS and it could all end in tears.

Beg to differ here too! Nico is more JB in my mind - Not the absolute fastest, but solid & dependable.

"This is why we watch!" :)

    Cheers,
    Ian

    YOU ARE WRONG!

Only kidding, this is indeed why we watch sir.

I certainly see Nico as more of a BANZAI! qualifying driver then Jensen for this one reason: Mercedes themselves have stated Nico is much harder on tires, especially fronts, than Michael Schumacher of all people. Nico has a razor sharp turn-in style which is why he depends more on a solid back end than Michael, so it's safe to say the two previous seasons Nico has had cars which favor his style whilst Michael is finally getting a car which sways a bit closer to his style, or should I say lack of dependencies?

The Lewis drama is what it is. Perhaps a change of scenery is all he needs?? Hmmm.
